Well I would hope so. The main nose gear wire is not long enough. I seen yours and it looks a lot more stable. Just wondering where you purchased it from?

My landing gear is a "Fults". You will find the details in my dissertation somewhere in pages one or two. There is lots of info if you will take the time to read previous info. Good Luck

Just wondering, the two holes for the front of the wing that secure the wing down, Is there some ply in there that is horizontal? What was your experience with that. I see there is two dowells in the package. looking forward to your answer.

Yes there is a thin layer of ply, but when you tighten the screws, the ply will break. Nitro included the dowels based on my build thread. Drill and countersink for the hold-down bolts. As an option, you can see that I cut two teardrop holes in the cowl for additional venting and painted 1/64 ply tear-drops around the hold-down holes).

My plane didn't have the dowels, instead there are two bolts and mating blind nuts. Also, there are horiz supports for the bolts thats secured to the wing ribs and the leading edge spar. Since this support was secured only on three sides, it would bend when i tightened the wing down. I had to add a spacer between this support and the lwr surface of the wing. Upload a pic of what you have to get more suggestions.

As you'll notice in my pics, I mounted the 3000mah batt butted close to the firewall. I made the batt cradle on the bench using plywood and craft sticks for bracing. I added triangle stock to the first and second bulkheads as additional surfaces for bonding the cradle in place. I still had to add a strip of weight inside the cowl. I guess the E motor is lighter than glow engines. Go back a page to see the pics.

Strange. With the turnigy G 60 and battery. Nose heavy if I put my battery to the bulk head. Had to slide the battery back toward the cg markings. Ill keep you posted. My 500 is almost ready to go up.

Great!! The G-60 is 38g lighter. way to go. We're waitin on the pics. However, I guess my wing needs to be 1" aft of its molded location. Then I could use a smaller battery resulting in lighter weight. Each fiberglass lay-up must be different. Maybe I'll order another, I like the plane that much.

Just fly my extra 500, and I need to add some nose weights.. It was slightly nose heavey but not enough. When It took off. it lifted before I wanted it to, like almost a wing tip stall. But I saved it. and managed to get it under control had to put nose down trim into it. Talk about a task, cuz my trim is not as close as my other radios. But I landed it without incident. lands really nice i will say that.

Great job Cowboy! I hope you can move the battery fwd enough to remedy the cg issue without adding weight. I ended up with an 1 oz in the cowl and a few degrees of down trim adjusted in the elev linkage.
Have fun!!!

BMarks4645 you obvious KNOW what you are doing.
It seems that those who do have the most luck with the NP arfs.

Did you try adding some down thrust to. The engine. I add some but didn't get a chance to go up again. Ya at full throttle she wanted to go vertical right from the ground. About have throttle will almost stay level. If weather permitting try another test flight . And only half throttle on take off.

As stated in an earlier post, I set my down thrust using the amount molded in the cowl. However, I don't think you'll be able to solve the cg issue with add'l down thrust. The manual places the cg 130 mm from the leading edge at the fuse. I've learned that you can't trust the manuals on these foreign ARF's.
Did you move the battery fwd? What battery are you using. Mine weighs 509 grams (6S 3000mAH).

I have a 6cell 300mah. And The cg is nose down very noticeable nose down cg. and still wants to climb when a full throttle. So i am going to try putting in some down thrust at the motor mount, cant hurt to try.

battery access,
Just wondering if you cut an access panel into the bottom of your plane to change the battery. As of now i am taking the wing off to change the battery. I thought about making a panel door on the bottom just under the battery location. Just wondering if you had any ideas that would work best?
thanks
Mike

I had to add popcycle sticks under the trailing edge of the main wing. the incidence of the rear horizontal stab is not correct when the fuse was made at the factory. No it flys really great. My only issue is battery access. will have to make some sort of hatch under the battery to change it out, at present i am taking the wing off. That is getting old real quick. Not much of an aerobattic airplane just your basics. MY has unlimited climb due to the electric motor and battery i chose.

It was set-up for glow, but I installed a DLE 30cc gas engine (not easy to do). Had they upgraded the engine Box for 30cc engine use they would have a top seller. Maybe you can get that point in their heads. Capt,n

I've talked to Tony and Eric at the shows, but nothing has ever come of it.
