I know that alot have people have done it ut for some reason had a hard time finding any description or advice on how to do it. was just looking for some help so i don't destroy the dam plane lol. if you have any pictures and or advice that could help me with this seemingly small project that would be very much appreciated. thanks in advance.

Read these old threads:

Are you aware about the more difficult take-off's and landings of taildraggers?

Here is one I did some time back. I think all the important stuff is addressed in the length of the thread. It's not difficult, I did it just by reading things here and there, and this puts together all the main concerns. Enjoy![8D]

This is the way I did it...For me, it was easier to take off and land as a taildragger. I'm glad I switched it...

Buy .40 sized landing gear, mount it at the leading edge of the wing (make sure to add internal support). I moved my elevator control horn over from center (so the tailwheel wire would not rub), ran tailwheel wire up to rudder. I re-hinged rudder (remember to use new hinges and make new slots, do not reuse the old slots), and bent tailwheel wire into the rudder. Don't forget to add reinforcement on the bottom of the fuse where the tailwheel will come out.

Forgot to add, make sure you locate the wire gear where the rudder connects to the vertical stab (right at the rudder hinge), otherwise your control throw may be off.

Now go have some fun

Quite an easy conversion, the tail wheel is the hardest part of this
conversion due to the posiiton of the rudder, but it can be done, in
one of 2 ways. The last 2 pics show the way I tackled it or as I did
in a previous LT-40 put a servo in the bottom of the fuselage and
"Y" it to the rudder servo to steer the tail wheel. Main gear is from
T & T Landing Gears, but if you do a search on Tower Hobbies, you
should be able to find a gear with the right height, wheel stance width,
and fuselage width to fit the LT-40. The most important step is to
reinforce the inside of the fuselage to anchor the main gear, I used
1/4" aircraft ply and placed the axle centerline approx 1/4" ahead of the
leading edge of the wing. Mine handles extremely well on the ground
for taxiing and tracks well once the tail lifts up also.

lol thanks guys all this helps, the funny thing is that i must have typed something wrong because i tried a search again and came up with quite a few things. think i am going to of course disconnect the front wheel, in the place of that run a nyrod to the back, alongside the elevator rod, then just hook that up to a tail wheelhttp://www.greathobbies.com/products/d/dub/dub955.jpg hopefully that will work i have some main gear lying around hope this should work. any other suggestions

just ran a nyrod from tthe rudder servo to a dubro tailwheel, simply pulled out the front wheel control rod and bolted some main gear 3 inch ahead of old gear, onto the plane with nylon bolt, i like those for gear and a small piece os light ply inside for support and.will post some pics later
