Am I the only one in the (RC) universe that has one of these beautiful models? I am surprised that the core golden age lovers havent jumped all over this one!! Fairly cheap, extremely well constructed, first class hardware, almost all plywood,IMAA legal, and the most easy flying monoplane I have ever had.In addition, its in stock!! Mine has been flying for about 6 months now and not one single glitch except for a cracked wheel pant. I just wish that the guys at Valley View(who are very responsive to communication) would find and offer more aircraft of this Era. Heres mine. Please sound off if you have one and maybe we can start a group. Bob

VERY ATTRACTIVE plane, sir!! I've looked at it at VV but really wanted something a bit more aerobatic like the PA Clipped Wing Monocoupe, which of course is not available anymore. This Monoculp looks to be great for kinda relaxful flying, making big circuits around the sky. So how does your fly!

I primarily do what you said maukaonyx but it remarkably responds well in rolls with less adverse yaw than I was expecting. If I open it up with that 18x16 prop it will do just about anything except sustained vertical.I too am paitently waiting for the clipped monocoupe and the Kange , Howard DGA. However this thing is so nice I may only get one of those two. Except for the strut placement and standard gear, it is a shoe in for the Reliant SR9C however what it really is, is a scale version of Steven Culps EAA experimental (Ibelieve) 90% Stinson. Three full scale kits produced, none built yet!! Go figure, model before plane it copies.

That looks a LOT like a Stinson SR series model, not a MonoCOUPE, or whatever they say it is
Never heard of a MonoCULP.

I too have purchased one of these planes and am patiently waiting to fly it. Have a static show on the 27th and weather permitting, it will be in the air on the 28th. I was also waiting for a PA monocoupe and couldn't wait any longer so I purchased this one. Now last Sunday I found two Monocoupes. Bought the one listed on this site and passed on another . Here is the E-mail address for the other, [email protected]

I had requested the the owner of Valley View get the instruction manual and post it on his website. He said he would try but I haven't seen it yet. I think the plane is beautiful, but I like to do as much research as possible before I buy.

The manual was pretty much useless , but if you have put together ARFs before, you will not have any troubles with this one. It is as close to a quick build as you an get.

The MonoCulp is a homebuilt designed by Steve Culp who is very well known for a few of his other homebuilt designs. As stated by insyt21st above, the full size has yet to fly but that has not stopped Valley View from releasing the model. It's a great looking bird, IMHO.

Hey GBR2. The plane has a carbon spar tube about 1/2 inch thick and when lifting the plane without th struts on, it shows no sag in the wings. however, when a plane comes with struts, I just naturally make them structurally functional. If they are not, they are attached on the fuse to a blind nut in plywood doublers. Same as the wing

Hey RALPHP. If you look at the pics of my plane, I added the horizontal stab graphics my self . I used Coverite vinyl and made about ten different designs before I got the one I felt that looked the best. I still have the templates if any one wants them.

Yes. Thats all we have had here in central N.C. for about the last 4 months!! She handles the wind very well especially on landing. I crab it in then at flair I ease in rudder and opposite airleron and it settles right in. I have flown it in up to 20 mph winds with no problem but if they are squirrelly. it will get beat up just like any other plane. In 10 to 15 mph wind, this thing will almost stop moving forward on landing if you bounce with no hint of a wing drop or stall. It has never dropped a wing on me once and power off stalls are strait nose down with no rudder input at all I have a quarter scale cub that weighs less than this and has a lot lighter wing loading and it does not land as soft as this one does. I think you can tell im happy with it. Lastly, I will try to scan it and post it. You only need one template. just flip it to make the other one. I will also send you the gear ones toi

Hey. Here are the templates for the stab and gear. If you can get this printed exactly on 8 1/2x11 than it will be exact. Let me know. if not I can email them to you. What engine do you have on yours?

So I take it that the struts are not functional as they come in the kit.
