When my son flew it it went left so hard that it fley right over our pit area.
It got a little scray at first like it was going to stall then he hit full power and it climb straght up like a 3d plane.
Verry cool.

RE: GP Waco?

Two flights yesterday. I noticed on the first flight it was acting a little squirrelly on the taxi out. Having some difficulty turning left (grass field). I attributed it to the 45 degree 6-8 mph crosswind and didn't think too much about it. Took off, nice flight, landed, taxied back. 2nd flight, same thing but managed to keep it pretty straight on take off. Another nice flight.

Later while I was taking it apart for the trip home I found the tail wheel was missing. It was laying out on the startup bench! lol

VERY forgiving airplane...

Michael

Well here is mine , ready for the test flight. :D:DI went with the Saito 125 I had in the hanger. It is swinging a 15 x 8 prop getting 9000 RPM's. It should pull it very good. It balanced right on the money at 5 1/4". With this engine I did not have to cut the cowl it fits right over it. I also added a glow sytem so I would not have to cut the cowl on start ups. I hope to get her in the air later this week if the wind calms down.[>:]

Looks great Pilot P51. It's nice to see the variety of engines being used on this plane.

What size is the tank (17oz?) how's the flight time with the Saito 125? The FS sound on the Waco will be hard to beat!

Has anyone put smoke on this yet?

NO weight was needed. It balanced out perfect at 5 1/4" which is were the CG is located. I hope to get it in the air this week if the winds calm down.

I finally got time to glue the combing around the cockpits. Also, I drew the outlines around the door & storage compartment and used the handle's decals and the hinge's decals that came with the kit. If it ever gets below 108* I will get it out and fly some more. Also finally got the new pilot in...
Thanks,

Looks good but what kind of pen did you use to draw the lines.
is it some kind of special ink?

Did you guys that are using the DLE 30 beef up the firewall?

You and use any fine point black permanent maker. Then spray a light coat of Clear Enamel over the lines. I use this on all my decals I make and never have a problem with the colors fading.

Also you can order the Top Flite panel Pen. L5HX4503 Top Flite Panel Line Pen

Leedees - Used 1/4" combing on my plane.

Sorry, I was out for a while.. I used a Sharpie permanent marker extra fine black. Right on with the rubber windshield washer hose 1/4 ". I had some small sharp pointed sissors I slid into the hose and split it . I glued it on with white canopy glue. I have not sprayed any clear enamel or sealer over the panel lines.

Thanks,

1/4" drip line tubing works good too. Home Depot where the sprinkler stuff is.

Yep. One of my flying buddies said the reason she wears sunglasses is because she has black eyes from flying inverted... lol

After a flight the other day I noticed she had fallen over. She didn't fall out even while flying inverted. She was kind of wedged under the dash. Guess what was holding here in?

I have thought about smoke and still might do it. It would look cool on this plane! Here are some pics of my engine setup and muffler.
