I just saw it right before you posted here... i was wondering how you got yours to waterfall .. i have tried evrything to get mine to do it. I have even had the elevators to the point where they bang the pushrod and still no go.. I dont rcall where my CG is but i know its aft of the manual.. any more it crosses the line of not being precise in KE and precision. ive tried flaperons with no avail too..

I am curious if anyone has tried the 15X4wAPC on the UCD with a 91 Surpassll . Does the 15X4 out perform the 14X4wAPC with the 91 Surpass ll ? thank you.

Whats wrong with the stock tail wheel? Mine is in its third season and its usually the first wheel to touch down. I know some people don't like the stress the stock one puts on the rudder, but if installed correctly there shoudn't be a problem. Joe

Joe I do not have the stock tail wheel. Also which shims and how thick for the right thrust that is needed?

Ernst thrust plates from Quantum Models, or maybe its just Quantum. They come in a pack of three, 1,2 and 3 degree. You can add them up and turn one sideways and get some up or down thrust in with the right. When I ran the Saito 100 it required 3 degree. With the YS 110 it needs 4 degree. From what I hear, Sullivan tailwheels are a good product. I've never had the pleasure of trying them. Good luck, Joe

14X4 is too small 15x4w works great on a 91 surpass,, that is what i had on mine until i got my 110

David AKA Wolfey and Lord Lucan, now a jet pilot:D, used a Sullivan tail wheel assembly on his UCD. He reported that it worked very well and posted photos and the part number he used further back in the thread.

Its still in the box. I call it the 'Yak in the box'. I'm still looking at another two weeks of slave labor untill I can even think about it. I did get the YS 91 for the UCD so the 110 can go in the Yak. Even with the delay I'll have it in the air before your Edge! Joe

I'm sure you will:)!! That being said, last I heard it should be in the states around July 1st. Figure another week for the build and maybe I'll get it in the air before we get creamed by the storms again[:@]. They are predicting a more active year than last if one wants to believe that. Maybe a few of them will go somewhere else this time around:D.

I am powering the plane with a 91 fs and a 15X4 acp. How much added thrust is needed for this combo I have not seen this info on this thread. Will the Cline Regulator improve proformance when leaving tank in its stock position. I am useing all digital servos dubro hwd ect.. Thank you for the help. Also should I cut the wing tips off?

A: Add 3 deg right thrust with the Ernst plate

A: Not necessary unless your tank is at CG

A: Most people fly it stock

hi tugman, you can start with around 3 deg right thrust,its where mine is and it works great.
as far as needing a cline with the tank stock, id say no unless that engine has issues i dont know about(never had one).
and i wouldnt change the wing unless you know something i dont, flies good stock.

:)seanychen. Nice vid. I enjoy watching you fly that UCD. Is this the only float plane you have? Is float flying better than on grass, pavement etc. It looks like there were other planes flying. Is the pond part of your club flying area?

Thanks for the help men Do I put the center of the fuel tank on the CG?I was curious about the thrust because all the guys with the ys were going 3% with a much larger prop had me wondering about 2% thrust change. This is my first U can do and hope to do it right the first time thanks to all of you who have spent many hours refineing this fine plane

yea tugman, put the center of the tank as close as possible to cg without going behind,a little in front is ok but not behind. like this.the black strips are weather striping to snug it in when i put the wing on and holds it tight without having to secure it with crossmembers.

Gary, here's a tip. Wrap a few rounds of filament tape around the tank to reinforce it against pressure buildup when using a cline system. If you need me to post a pic, let me know.

Managed to move myself to get a couple of pics. Top pic shows the tank wrapped in filament tape and bottom pic shows my cline setup with an upright Saito 100.

thanks rajul, nice setup, when i get my ys110 for my 60 size and get it setup ill do that with the tank,(and the mini servo too!).i notice your highend extension, now if you have a old CB radio or know someone that does, you can take one of the knobs off and JB weld it on to the end of that ext of yours and it makes tuning real easy because you can spin it so easy, looks good also[8D]

Thanks Gary. The high end performance is pretty much controlled by the cline reg. I am thinking of doing away with the high end needle, when I have the time to do the mods required and try it out.
