Hello,
Please, I need some help here. I am new in this hobby and I am not sure what to do.
I just got a multiplex mini mag two weeks ago. I just finished upgrading the motor. I got the power pack recommended by multiplex USA. I also got a esc 36 amp by castle and I am using a prop 6x4. (I did some research before doing so.) I tried to fly it today. And before heading to the park, I did some sort of pre check. I turned the tx on. I plugged the battery in. Performed the binding process and right after that, I noticed that the motor, ailerons, rudder and elevator started moving by themselves without using the tx. It lasted for a few seconds. It was so weird. I unplugged the battery and turned off the tx. Waited for a few minutes. I turned tx back on and plugged the battery in and it happened again. All the servos keep twitching all the time. Not sure if that is normal.
I would like to know if I am doing something wrong before sending it back to the company.
Am I missing something???
Please, any comments or advise would be great.
Thank you.

Do you have any control over the control surfaces and throttle? Do they move as you control them with the transmitter?
What is the transmitter receiver combination?
I didn't see this, but did you add the optional ailerons? Not that this is part of your question, but since you are new, I just wanted to check with you to make sure you have them working right. If you DO have control over everything, stand behind and move the aileron stick to the right. The right aileron should go UP. If it goes down, you have things reversed. For the elevator, pulling the stick toward you should make the elevator move UP.

Hi CGr,
first of all, I just want to thank you for replying,
Yes, I do have control over the control surfaces and throttle. I have no problem with it. The problem occures when I leave the plane sitting on the ground for few seconds without giving any input. All of the sudden all the servos start moving and the motor start running for 2 or 3 or 4 seconds. It seems like I lose signal. But I am not sure what I should check. The ailerons were added. They work fine. Right input move the right aileron up. Left input move the left aileron up. As for the transmitter combination, I am not sure how to check that. I bought the RTF version of the Mini Mag from bphobbies. It comes with its own transmitter Hitec Zebra 4 Channel Transmitter and the receiver Hitec HFS-06MT Receiver.

I just looked up that radio on Google. It says that it's a 35 - 40 MHz system. That could be a big issue with interference. If it were me, I'd opt for one of the 2.4 GHz systems like the Airtronics RDS8000, or the Spektrum DX6i or similar radios. You can probably use the servos, but the radio is questionable, especially if you have control over the Rudder, Elevator, Throttle, and Ailerons, but it still jitters and adds throttle when you don't want it.
Those cheap radios are just that... cheap and, in a lot of cases, very unreliable.
There are other systems, Turnigy I believe is one, and there are others, but I would definitely can that radio and move to one of the 2.4GHz systems.
