Default phenoix 2000 issue with assembly rear control rods

hi people i have had this glider sitting in my basement for a year now because the 2 control rods that connect to the hinges for the control surfaces are to short to connect. in fact i'd need to have the server horns facing all the way back to the rear most position to connect them. has anyone else faced this issue? complete newbie to flying here ...i just gave up seeing no solution nor a path to a solution so ..there it sits brand new otherwise ready to fly for over a year . also i read the stock plastic hinges will just break easily can someone tell me a good upgrade for the control surface hinges....and also what props fit on the stock motor?

Making control rods is a pretty straightforward operation. But if these were part of an ARF package, maybe you put the servos in the wrong way? DuBro plastic control horns are strong enough for moderately sized glow models, so they'll do fine for your glider. Your manual should have the right prop recommendation.

it was rtr all the electrics came pre installed and the only way the control rods reach the hinges puts the control surfaces at full locks

Would turning the servos around 180 degrees fix the problem? You will probably notice that the output isn't in the middle of the case, so it will make roughly a 1/2 inch difference to turn it around. It's possible that the factory worker who built your plane put them in backwards, and it's also possible that the wrong pushrods were set with your kit. Both are easy solutions.

it should be a very simple matter (although absolutely shame on hobby king) to replace the pushrods and Clevises (it's the crappy clevises, NOT hinges that are bad on that airframe.)
you may be able to use the existing pushrods by simply turning the servos 180 degrees (putting the servo arm closer to the rear of the aircraft.)

looks like a 10X6 folding prop is what they recommend.

there are a good number of you tube videos for this airplane, like most of HK's stuff this airplane needs a little work to make it flyable.

good luck and keep us posted
