Hey Tim, thanks pal, great advice. I sure have a lot to teach my little bambino, flying, the accordion, etc, etc. We just purchased a baby jogger and now I'm trying to get used to it. It sure is a different style of running. I try to do about 30-35 miles a week, but surely a difference when pushing something along. Thanks for the words of encouragement and well wishes.
Best of luck to you and yours, especially the new one on the way.

40+ from glow to 150cc gas and a custom 6 x 6 x 12 trailer. Mostly aeorbatic and getting things ready for IMAC again next year (took 2 years as club president and chief instructor). I do enjoy this hobby and the people. It is always a thrill to see students progress. It can be frustrating and seem impossible at times.
We have had several young members entering aviation as a career. An email recieved just this morning stated one student I trained is now in Texas in the US Airforce boot camp.

cstevec, sounds like a pretty cool old lady you have if she wants a Corsair!! I'd be hanging onto her. She sounds like she has taste in airplanes. Not sure about you though.... I haven't seen you.

I have been single for a while now, cant say I mind it either
I have time for whatever I like, have too many hobbies and nobody to answer to... works out quite well. Girls to this point dont see eye to eye on the flying thing vs. time spent with them and seeing flying was in my life first, it will be the last to get shoved aside
Bye, thank you... please drive through. Now, once I get my boat, cycle, and other two cars fixed I will have more airplane money...

i like the "cash only" idea, but to me its hard to give a bundle of bucks to someone else for anything. im 14 and i dont get that much money, and when i save up enough i always blow it on a plane or something related to RC. its definitely an addiction. don't get me wrong though, cuz i love planes and flying them so i forget about the money 17 minutes after i buy whatever i buy.

You know what seems to work for alot of my buddies is to use me as a scapegoat. Heck, even my dad does it.
"What do you mean to many airplanes dear? You remember Jeremy? He spends more on one Jet than I have put into all 10 of my airplanes, and he has 3 of them!!!!!!!"
My dad continually tells my mom when he gets a new bird:
"you do realize that with ALL my engines, ALL my radio's, and ALL my airplanes, I have about the same amount invested as our son does in ONE jet right?
Geez, what a thing to be made an example of!

My girlfriend of six years is an animal lover and after I got back into this hobby after about twelve years and started buying kits and engines and everything else I NEED to go to flying, she started to question what I was spending.Reading the paper one day,I saw an ad for an upcoming bird show, told her about and we went. She spent $500 for a five week old african grey that she had to hand feed for another six months, even though we were told they are weaned in about the four month range. And then she bought another one that was four years old and talks like, well I hate to say it,a woman. She says"where's moma" and that is all it took. After a few green cheeks,a blue and gold mccall, and a few more,I had my tracks covered. The hobby of her choice flies and so does mine!!We have a common interest in things that fly.Hers take seed(organic) and mine need nitro!!!!At the present time,I have about eleven unbuilt kits, twentyfive or so nib engines and five planes to take to the field at any given time. The only bad thing is that her flying buddies last seventy five years and mine don't seem to be able to compete.

Update:
My wife lost her bet on the superbowl; now I am the proud owner of a Seagull Models Spacewalker II ARF, and one of those "Helichoppers" from Megatech. (She thought it was "cute" so she got me that too.)
Think I'll keep her around.
Oh yeah, thanks to all who posted about their 25 NIB engines, 30 unbuilt kits and such, now she thinks I'm really O.K. 'cause all my stuff flies- (7 planes, one flying saucer, one Helichopper)before that she just thought I was kinda goofy for having all that "stuff" in my "toy room"!

My wife is a full flying member of our club, and selects and assembles her own planes (and occasionally steals a kit from me), so the 30 or so planes and kits I have are no problem, but you ought to step into Mikesell's place...He's got over 100 planes and kits and about that many engines. We just bought 10 Norvel .074's today (6 are mine).
