This is for all you guys ( and gals ) that might think you`re taking a long time to solo, don`t let it discourage you! Work, schedule conflicts, weather, crashing my Avistar and having to switch to a low wing ( Brightstar), flying well one trip to the field, then having a day the next time where it was like I`d never flown before, all conspired to delay my solo. There was more than a little frustration at times. But today was the day!! Made a couple of nice landings on the buddy box and my instructor said, " OK, unplug this thing." Took off, flew some around, did a couple of loops, lined my Avistar ( now repaired ) up on final and just greased it!! What a rush! Now it`s on to the three P`s and my eventual second plane, a WM T-34. Patience and persistence do indeed pay off! Stick with it!!

CONGRATS BRO! .....I am sure you are in "cloud nine" (pun intended) and will be there for a few days. Enjoy it and keep us posted. Its a great hobby and even more so when you accomplish something like this. [sm=RAINFRO.gif]

Congratulations! I know what you mean... between work, weather, family commitments... I am lucky if I get to fly one weekend in three... makes learning hard if you spend the first 2 flights trying to get back to where you were the last time! And that's before you add any "rebuilding" time...! Our club requires you to take-off and land from both directions and have two instructors(one of which is usually the chief instructor) on hand to "score" you in order to get your wings... means you need a day with little/no wind and the right combination of people... it seems you'd have better luck at Vegas! The right day finally showed up and I was "signed" off....
Now you can fly when you're ready instead of having to wait for an instructor, you can fly several times in a row without taking turns with the other students... it's a lot more fun!

Makes the hair on my neck stand up when I read these-
I am EXTREMELY addicted to this hobby and hopefully you will be also...
Remember: Now that you soloed you have a debt to the RC world- You must (when you are competent and comfortable-) help someone new and get them over the hump !
The one thing (RC related-) that is better than soloing is teaching a student and having THEM SOLO!
Congrats and happy landings!!!!!
Cheers

I`ve learned a lot on RCU, not the least of which is the fact that there are some terrific folks in this hobby. I`m definitely hooked!

I`ve looked forward to an "Attaboy" for a while as I watched others get theirs. I dare say they`re becoming something of a right of passage for new RC flyers.
