Default can you mount an engine at a 45 degree angle?

I have read that a 90 degree angle is fine, just avoid inverted. How about a 45 degree angle, counterclockwise as you face the place from the front? Would it adversely affect performance?
Thanks!

45 degrees is fine. For that matter, I don't see why you couldn't mount the engine at any angle. You can mount an engine inverted. It may make it a little more finicky when tuning and require more attention with regards to fuel tank placement but there's really no problem in doing it.

I had a Sig Kavalier with a K&B .45 mounted on 45 degrees just as you described. Worked great. I think inverted would be a lot of trouble getting to the glow plug to pre-heat it and to remove the pre-heater after starting. Any one know of a good remote glow-plug heater hook-up?

I haven't used them in years, but here's a cheap way to go...

Go to a fabric store and get some of those snaps that are sewn into dresses. Solder a wire to it and "snap" it on the glow plug. Then add a second wire to the engine mount bolts, wire them to a battery and servo switch, and Voila!

Thank's, I will try that one.
I used an earphone plug and recepticle before, and attatching a wire to the plug center was tricky. I made a clip-on out of a peice of flat copper with a slit and hole, but it would fall off sometimes.

That was on an inverted engine in a Smoothie, It ran good but was touchy to tune. My past Kougars and the one I'm now building have engine at 45 deg. with no problems.

Radials mount any way. Why should any thing change. Location of fuel supply and soerce tuning of engine type. Inverted are harder to tune.
Fingers get ahead of thumbs Sorry
