Ok I fixed my pics

1. Pointy blue spinner
2. MAS G/F 3 series

3. Sealed box carried by a postal worker

These should be better. EXTRA, I hope the spinner is pointy enough for you and the prop is a MAS G/F 3 series

, I was not sure as to diameter and pitch so I chose an 11x6

I hope the plane is being delivered UPS because I'm not photoshoping a Fedex guy in there

Also note post time 1:05AM
This was time spent editing photos. And generally being a model airplane geek by reading RCU forums since finishing schoolwork at 4. Thats about 8 hours straight on the forums after taking out dinner eating time. I gotta get a life.

you will find the boomerang a good little plane. flys good. the 46ax is a very good motor and it makes the plane fly great .. power when needed but it will fly the boomerang and half throttle and quarter...take the wire under carrage and put it away.. it is the only bad point of the boomerang it not up to scratch keeps colasping use a alu undercarrage instead it will last longer than the plane.. the boomerang is the most used here in western australia

Neener neener neener....
Hehe.
I am actually a little intimidated to be honest. I know it's an ARF but I've never even delved into building things whatsoever in my life other then wood class(my night stand had way too much varnish). But it's exciting to me cause it's my first new plane(I had a second hand trainer about 5 years back as I've mentioned that I crashed once the instructor said go ahead, solo.)
So now it begins. I have a friend who will help me. He's been flying for a few years and stuff but I am going to join the wing halves possibly today.

Too much time on my hands!
That IS a nice plane you have there and the 46 ax will be plenty of power for it.
Good Luck

I'm gluing the wing halves together right now. I glued the first side with the joiner piece. It says that once it's cured that I can start on the other half. Does that mean I have to wait for the full curing time of my 30 minute epoxy? that's 8 hours. Is it not safe to put the other piece in and attach them after, say 2 hours?

Thanks Ken, I did just that. I gave it about an hour and a half or so...
I just joined the wing halves actually. I tried getting the gap closed more but was unable to do better than what's pictured in the photos I've attached. Do you think this will work once I add the tape that goes around it?
I should mention: "THE PICS MAKE THE SEPERATION LOOK MUCH BIGGER THAN THEY REALLY ARE" I would say you can't really fit anything in between at all(not even the thinnest penny but for some reason the pics have made the seperation look wide in some places(maybe the flash)
Can you take a jab at what you think?

The gap you have should be a non issue. Most two piece wings have some samll gap. Question? Did you use plenty of glue (epoxy?) to join the wing roots together? This can be an issue later on.
I would recommend you talk with your friend and see if he has an iron or a heat gun. Shrink that covering down, you'll be happier with the end result. If no heat gun than use mom's hair dryer, it'll work, just take a whole lot longer.

I'll talk to mom about it... but she may have issues with sending it 3500km's away LOL... I think we have a hair dryer actually and I was going to ask that down the road. Later on I'm going to get a heat gun but until I start building kits(or need to recover this plane, a hair dryer will do.
I did use plenty of glue I think... I probably mixed 2 notches of glue out of each epoxy bottle for the joining. I spread it all over the rib on each side of the wing and on the joiner as well as in the hole as specified in the instructions. I can't see why this thing would separate. My thought is, if they can make some wings hold with just tape(like the arrow(although I heard it separates on people in mid-air that way)) I'm sure I have more than enough glue plus I'll have the finishing tape over the wing joint.
Thanks a lot. I'll keep updating as I go today. I'm still intimidated by the build but a lot less now that I've put the wing halves together. It isn't as bad as I thought.

Wing halves are the easy part. Read forward in your instruction manual to see what the procedures are to install the rudder and elevator. Most of the time, elevator installation requires that you have the wing attached so that you can make sure you get the elevator lined up centerline of the fuselage. There should be some description as to how to do that. If not, let me know and I'll walk you through it. The next fun part is engine installation, and that usually just requires making sure you get the holes lined up correctly on the motor mount, it's really not that hard. Just ask me the questions if you need to, PM me for more detailed info.

It's too late now but for next time.
If there is a gap that runs the entire length of either the top or bottom it can often be fixed by removing just a little bit of material from the top or bottom of the center joiner. I do see a lot of bubbles in the covering, not your fault of course. A covering iron is needed to lay those back down and tighten up the covering in general. Iron the trim and seams first.

yeah I tried with a blow dryer and all it did was make the bubles more like ripples... I got most the ripples out but for now I'm going to leave it until I can get with an instructor or something.
I have encountered a small problem with the install. The front wheel installation section is pure poop in the manual... Doesn't give much info on how to do it. Only a few pictures. and I can't for the life of me figure out how to install the things that go into the servo horns and control horns. They are way too small to manipulate. I've posted photos explaining what I mean
Photo 1: Just my landing gear install on the back. I'm going to see how it holds up... I heard that's the worst part of the boomerang. If and when it lets go, I'll replace it with a gear I have at home.
Photo 2: The mounting bracket for the gear.(upside down)
Photo 3: Parts they say I need(Two rings I have no clue where they go, it doesn't show it in pic at all
Photo 4: Instructions for mounting front gear part 1
Photo 5: Instructions for mounting front gear part 2
Photo 6: This is suppose to connect to the gear control horn... 3 words(what the h*ll?) How do you work with that small thing? It accepts a small allen key on the top but it doesn't seem to be able to do anytthing about the thread part at the bottom. I took off one of the nuts to try and thread the horn but I can't get any leverage on the threaded part to turn it. There's no where to do that on this peace so I can't get it on. Is there a trick to this?
