there are a couple of wifes of our club members that have come out and who fly, I wish more women would try it,a good friend of mine's daughter is interested in learning, and I gave them a opened ended invitation to give it a try.
my boys are a bit young yet but are really interested,we shall see if there girl buddies want to check it out also, our club promotes partisipation from anyone who wants to try it.
accessability and feeling welcome is the key, coming to a field where a inclusive attitude is prevelent will gain more female partisipation.

G'day Presso,
We have 4 lady pilots in our club, my partner is nearly ready for her Bronze wings, & she is the club treasurer, & onother one already has hers, they love it & are very competant pilots too. The young lady with the Albatros has flown it, & it is an Australian Scale Championship winner, owned by Dean Erby. She is also showing off her first trainer. she is now flying her low wing Skyraider.
The other young lady is showing her Calmato low wing sports plane, she has her bronze wings.

My first student was a woman. And I must say , she was one of the easiest to teach . Makes me feel pretty good to see her flying now on her own.
We also have Shara , 13yrs old that flies a Nextstar. She does really well and should solo before long.

"Are you against women fliers?"
"Not as often as I'd like to be!"
I haven't seen any women fly at my club. My daughters (9 and 10) have flown on buddy boxes, and I've let them fly my Slow Stick at the park. My 10 year old is painting the pilot figure for my current build, and it is coming out way better than if I had done it.

Now that you mention it, no. Ground crew, yes. Graphic designers, yes. Peanut gallery, yes. But in the two clubs I have belonged to no lady fliers.
The last "old boys" club.
I know there are free-flight and peanut scale girl/women fliers. Must be some somewhere because I see them featured in the Model Avaition scholarships and pictured at events. I know of one wonam in the IMAA that has a large fleet of gorgeous warbirds.

This is what I'm talking about
This is my 7 year old with a friend. I hope she continues to show the interest in the hobby. I sure do enjoy the father daughter time.

I've got a lady friend who came out and watched me fly about three months ago. She's now well along in her flight training and has three planes of her own already! Her seven year old daughter is also interested. My six year old daughter is also interested, but (she) thinks she needs to wait a couple of years before she really gives it a try.

We have a new member, a senior woman that contacted me a while back. She has a quite old aircraft and the radio system is current, but old (RX type I mean). She needed batteries and to join the AMA, which she took care of immediately. Now, she is ready to start to learn to fly her trainer. We also have aonther woman that I work with, that wants to learn. She was on the buddy box with one of our instructors a short time ago and did just fine. Perhaps she will continue on and start flying. I hope so. She is a lot of fun and has potential to be a pretty good pilot.
But, many women just consider these aircraft as boy toys.

I just asked my wife, she would fly a "cute" little plane but would have no interest if I was not in the hobby, she would rather knit.
On a side note, I am going to have her knit me a little box to keep my hands warm when flying in the winter.

Hi Moondoggie and Bev.
Yep, I was in England in July and September. Then, five days after getting back from England last month, Julie and I headed over to Prague and Salzburg for a week of R&R. After sightseeing in Prague, we took the train to Salzburg and visited with her brother who lives in Salzburg (teaches music, the Piano, at the Mozarteum). Jeech.. over 34000 miles this summer!!
Nice bipe!!! That must have been exciting. I flew a large scale gasser in Venice last year and had a blast with that.
Dick. (green with envy over you flying the Bipe)

I'm 11 almost 12, got my own Hobbico Nexstar, countless hours on the sim, training in the spring, and I belong to a great club. I'am the first and only girl in the club. Plus I got a wonderful dad who is always their to help me and answer questions. (My dad and me love warbirds, my dad named me after the Allison v12 engine used in the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk) Most people are very suprised when they find out how much I love this hobby and how much I know. I'am also 1 of the 4 other young pilots my age in the club. So, its nice to see other young pilots out at the field.
