Flying my slow stick around in the park today and a gust of wind came in and blew the darn thing into a tree. STUCK 50-60 ft above ground!
NOW WHAT?
Anyone I can call? any other ideas?

You can contact the local parks department or a tree service about getting your airplane down. If you keep going back and checking on it, the wind should blow it down eventually.

Depending on where it is in relation to the branches above, you might tie a 2oz lead fishing weight to a long line and try to throw it over the plane. If you manage, you may be able to pull the plane loose. Expect some damage though. But you should be able to salvage the motor, battery, and electronics at worst case. Get a spool of twisted nylon line, about 100 lb test. Even if you get the line stuck on a near brach, you may be able to shake the plane loose.
To bad you didn't have one of those 4D motors, you could have backed it out off the tree

You need the following
Crossbow OR conventional bow and arrow.
Fixed spool fishing reel with some 30lb nylon [approx]
You are likely to need some stronger line.
Tie 30 lb nylon to quarrel/arrow. Shoot over branch. Try to dislodge plane. If required pull heavier line through and use that.
Worked for me and many others.

I'm gonna go get some twine from home depot tomorrow morning (I couldn't do it today it got dark). put some weight on one end and try to throw it over. It's stuck at the EDGE of the tree held up by some very tiny branches and leaves so That should work. Too bad my dumb mind didn't think of this earlier when it was still light out.
It's clear outside with humidity at mid 70's through out the night. Will my electronics be ok? I don't care about the plane it was only $20. But my AR6200, battery, Servos, Motor.

The reciever, servos and motor will be fine, but if your battery is over discharged it may be toast... Certainly if it is a LiPo.[&:]

Great!... I use the Zippy's myself. Well worth the low price, I have 8 of them in 3 different sizes and they work just as well as my more expensive packs.
Have you gotten your SS down yet?

I was flying a free flight at the University sod farm. It got into a high tree right about dark, I came back the next morning about 6 AM, Threw a line over the limb and tried to shake it loose. No success. Went up to physical plant and borrowed a long ladder, gone maybe 20 minutes. Came back and the airplane was gone. Couple of weeks later a guy showed up at my house. Said he knew who had my airplane and would get it back for me. He did so and I was most appreciative. I have no idea how the people who had it got it down.
My son won Senior C FF at the 1980 Nats in Dayton. Swapped engine and flew in B. On the third flight the timer failed and the airplane disappeared into the clouds. A year later I got a card saying they had my airplane. It had landed in a tree, spent the winter in the tree, and finally blew down. The engine, a Fox 25, all castor fuel, was fine, and the airplane had minor damage.

Aprox how wigh up is this thing? Is there anyway that someone could Bear Grills that tree? My friends canopy ejected of his 1/3 scale yak......I climbed to the top of that tree in my sandals.....saved him fifty bucks. I do know that Home depot sells light bulb changers that are aprox 25 feet tall, put two of them togther and that might be enough to bat it out. just return em after cause they are not cheap! good luck.

Brett ... oh man ... you are nasty!
If its that cheap then let it be, no point risking anything or anyone.

Try a fishing pole with light test line that you can break fairly easy it will take a few tries unless your like Jimmy Houston or something. Might work. I can put a lure or weight just about on the nose anywhere but don't know about up.
