The wheel pant wire slots for the Sportster kit is designed for the taildragger and not for a tricycle gear, so in order to use it for tricycle gear the wire slot will need to be filled in, as well as the drilled holes and screwdriver holes.
Is there a plastic filler that can be sanded smooth so that it won't show underneath the paint?

Ummm... didn't you just ask a similar question in the "BONDO" thread? And didn't you get an answer? In fact, several answers?

Ihaven't tried to do something like this on plastic yet, but Iwonder how sanding the surface and using epoxy with microballoons would work...

Epoxy and microballoons might work but it depends on the plastic. If it is much softer than the epoxy mixture it may be difficult to get a nice smooth, invisible transition. Body fillers and plastic putty are made for this sort of thing.
I've used this for stuff before and it seemed to work well: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...XFP28&P=ML

The Bondo thread is about filling holes in the airframe. This is for a different application - plastic wheelpants.

This is the total content of the original post: "Can bondo be used as a balsa filler?"
The point here is to allow as much lattitude to a poster as necessary. Especially in the beginners forum. But, repeating a question is just that, repeating a question. There were replies that went into the types of filler for balsa and for fiberglass.
Added to this, there is a third posting, that one about wheel pants which is being addressed. Just how many times do you ask the same or similarquestion, Joe?

This issue is being addressed in the other thread about your wheelpants. I see no reason to run a second thread to get the same answers you can get in that other thread. I'm closing this thread down.
