Mody,

Don't worry about the 2.4G module now. I still fly 72MHz and never have to wait for the channel pins anymore. Actually, nobody in our club has to wait for a channel anymore because most of the members use 2.4G and leave all the 72MHz channels freed up.

As far as good general sports airplanes, I really love the Great Planes Escapade. It runs about $100 for a complete ARF with all the control surfaces installed, bolt-on tail that is always straight and true, removable hatch with a pilot figure included, large size wheels and wheel pants, and even the fuel tank is pre-assembled. It also comes with the needed tie-wraps and velcro straps. And it flies great on a typical 46. I have a Super Tigre 51 in it with plenty of power.

I bought a Piper Cub a couple of years ago that had digital servos on it... I promptly removed them and replaced them with analog servos from an Extra300s that I own. I installed the digitals back into the Extra.. what a difference it made in the Extra. I had many flights on the Extra, but it made a difference that is hard to describe. I cannot tell the difference in the 80" Cub. I love flying digital servos for their precision. I would have to agree that beginners are wasting money buying digital servos. One crash and they can be history. So when you start flying snaps, spins, knife edge and rolling circles, you will appreciate the digitals.

Yep, your out of luck but like husk says, it's nothing to worry about now. My 9-C is 72 and it does everything as well or better then the 2.4 other then I have to be careful about using the pin board and walking the line making sure I'm the only one flying on 15. I'm still not a big fan of the 2.4s but most the problems have been figured out and they are working better today. I only mentioned the 2.4 module because the sale is almost over and it was a very good deal. It's going to be a while before I can get the RXs I need but it's a start. I also fly with gas engines and the 2.4 is a big bunch less sensitive to RF noise so my set up will be easier. It's not a must have. Other then having to be careful around other pilots there isn't a lot a 2.4 will do for you. Use what ya got, nothing wrong with it.

I think the next big thing happening with servos is the high voltage capability. There are some of those already out in the market. You can use a 2 cell lipo battery(7.2 volts rather than 6 volt limit) for the Rx without having to use a voltage regulator. Now that will crank up the torque and speed outputs. Don't know if they come in analog or digital.

On the subject of mixing analog and digitals I encountered a problem using a 5cell NIHM. I have 4. 3152 Futaba and 3 3004s . I used the 3004s for throttle and flaps 3152s for all control surfaces. The alierons worked for very short time went back to a 4 cell and works well

I got this from Tower Hobbies about the 3152 servo. You may be encountering what they describe:

S3152 Digital Servo Precautions,
-It is best to avoid long leads and Y-harnesses especially with
standard grade wires. If problems are encountered, consider using
heavy duty wire such as Futaba's Heavy Duty Series or Hobbico's
Pro Series, minimizing lead lengths, and/or removing Y-harnesses.
-Current Drain: Futaba S3152 Servo is Specially Designed for High-
Torque and High-Speed, Therefore Very High Current Drain Is Normal
At Startup. For Ultimate Performance When Using This Servo
Please Review The Following Points.
(1) When Using Systems With the Battery Fail Safe Function it Has
a Higher Cut-Off Voltage Setting Which Will Cause Shorter
Operation Time.
(2) When Installing the Servo Please Check Pushrod Linkage To Make
Sure There Is No Binding in Order To Prevent Excessive Power
Consumption and Decrease the Life of the Motor and Battery.

hey CG... now another question on leads... I am worried about the current draw for instance of the digital servo from the battery to ensure I get big enough one... I have never even thought about whether the leads can actually allow that much current as they are so thin... can they actually take the current drawn from a bigger digital servo say such as a 240oz one which can at most extreme (almost never) condition draw up to 3200mah?...

hsukaria> I lost my Escapade so It's been crashed. I had Mustang P51 thats been crashed too, NO plane for me to fly[&o]

Graybeard-> Well yeah I'm outta luck, but I'm not worried about 2.4Ghz at the moment, thanks for letting me know about great deal but without plane it ain't gonna work, even if I had the option of replacement. I love my regular standard servos, digital servo as well as 2.4Ghz would be a quantum leap for me on top of that affordability which I can't. So I'm outta this topic especially when it comes down to digital servo. I have no plane to fly and I'm desperately waiting to have some money as every check is going towards bills which we lagged behind and trying our best to catch up on those.[:@]

BUT I WILL FLY AGAIN

CG,

These are the bills of the month I was unemployed, I've been working for a month, and this project of Office 2007 support is temp project of Amex (American Express) a lot of people came here in IT for months and ended up working for 9 years or more. I wish the same for me, but according to my wife, I'd be able to buy a plane at the end of June but I'm counting on my college money which is the refund I'd get after having paid all the fees for my CCNA. Having an American wife means she is the controller of money, and control is what women want you know

Control? Women? Money? Now its getting complicated! RC planes are a lot simpler. Maybe that's why we guys like them so much? We have control of something.

hsukaria, LOL,

That's where we have control and controlling women are controlling cos of our relentness. Women want control, and they have 3.4 Ghz radio in their hand to control us. We only control the planes. But in order to buy it, you gotta get the permission of wife, when bank account is in both's name. We only have control of plane, computer, cell phone and our car thats it.

In relation to the topic of this forum, do women control using digital or analog servos?

Digitals are binary, 1's and 0's, on or off, same thing every time.

If you know any women that predictable give me thier number

Unfortunately I don't know any women that predictable. Women don't control using digital or analog servos, but they certainly control bank accounts[:@]
