I'm totally new when it comes to RC anything. I just bought my first RC plane, the Dynam Hawk Sky. I've assembled most of it and everything works except my ailerons. I'm wondering if there is anything I need to do to "activate" these parts other than plug them in like the other servo functions? I believe I've tried every orientation of the connectors, it just seems like they are faulty. The instruction manual included absouletely stinks as far as helping a beginner assemble the plane, that's why I'm hoping someone on here can help
One thing I did find odd: Though the aileron has not yet worked from my radio, I did bump the wires a bit on accident and noticed that made the servo pull one of the wing's aileron down. I'm not sure what this means either.
I can upload pictures of my connection if that would aid anyone in helping me find the solution.
Also, I apoligize if I used the incorrect words for things, I don't think I have a full understanding of the parts and names of my plane yet.
Thanks,
Coop
EDIT:I got a new y-harness today from a local shop. The plane works fine now, silly stock wiring! Thanks again for your assistance.

Pictures always help, if you have tried the ailerons in all the channels of your receiver, like plug them into a slot you know that works, and they still do not function? Trace the wires back to the servos themselves or remove them entirely and make sure that all the inline connections are good.
There is a chance that there is a problem with the Y harness, you can plug the individual servos into a slot on your rx and make sure they work.
If you can not get anything to work in the slot for the ailerons this is a rx or tx problem and the vendor should be contacted.
I am not the best at saying what I see in my head with these ideas but I try.

I uploaded a few pictures, I'm not sure if they will help.
I took your advice and changed the reciever connections around and I did get one aileron to function. I then put everything back into the proper position and it would work a little, stop, work a little, and then stop again. But I couldn't get both ailerons to function at the same time. I had to switch which port they were connected to in the Y-connecttion. So, I assume that one of the ports in the Y-connection is faulty.
I'm not sure if this matters, but I'm using the battery with the charge it came with. I assume they don't ship them fully charged, will this make this type of problem occur? The motor definetely works fine though, it's quite powerful. Leading me to believe there should be enough juice in the battery to operate the servos correctly.
EDIT: I connected each aileron directly to the receiver and they both work great. I am now 100% sure it's the Y-harness. Thank you very much for your help, PhoenixanAngel! I'll be contacting the retailer shortly.

Glad I could help, if the vendor is not helpful, a new Y harness is available from local hobby shops if you have one around. If not there is always Tower or Horizon and a harness is affordable.
I have a funny feeling that dual plug on the end of your Y is a bit dodgy. Here are some options you have.

*edit* Do not trust the initial charge on that battery, be sure you follow all proper charging procedures with them. Others here can help you a lot more then I on that subject. I do not fly electric.

Yup as Phoenixangle said...
Charge the battery well, especially the first time, and then try each aileron servo seperately, plugging it directly into the receiver.
If they work this way, you know the problem is with that "Y" cable.
