I had to replace the clutch on my CT4S.
The Manual says the set-screw needs to be 4 full turns out as recommended or to have the factory settings as a starting point for further adjustments.
Now, if I turn it 4 turns out, the screw is too far out and locks the outer housing wheel.
The most turns out that it still spins is 3 turns out, is that O.K.?

There are two different set screws on your shift clutch units. Two that are straight up and down and two that are sitting diagnally. The screw sitting at an angle are the adjusting screws. These are the screws that you will want to start at 4 turns out. The other two simply adjust the balls that ride on the hub.
Thanks for your question.

O.K., those are no problem to turn 4 turns out. I'm still a little confused, because my Manual says (maybe I got an older one) that those need to be 3 1/2 turns out and the ones with the ball (Manual calls them set-screws) need to be 4 turns out.

dogdaysunrise,
Here is what it says in the manual.
3. Drop one bll into the center hole on each clutch shoe. Start the setscrew just to hold the ball in place. Final adjustment will be made later.
4. Slide the clutch shoes onto onto the main shaft.
5 Now its time to thighten the 4x5 set screws. You want to tighten them down until you see the shoe lift up slightly off the main shaft. Then repeat for the other side.
These are the instructions for the two 4x5 set screws.
The other two 2x12 set screws are 3 1/2-4 turns out for a starting point.
Thanks.
