Well I basically shot myself in the foot today. My truck must have hit such a high temp that the top of the piston is almost black, the glow plug got so hot the metal turned blue. It seems to me that i didnt tighten the glow plug enough because I saw a little bit of fuel on my brand new head button.[
] I dont know what to do, the truck is still under warrenty. Should I contact CEN and try to get a new motor, I babied this thing greatly. Was it an air leak, or is the truck improperly tuned ( Im gona kill my dad if it was). Help Me! I love this truck and I dont want to get rid of it.

Hey Darkfire... Sounds Spooky but dont panic. replace the glow plug and see if it will start if it starts hard then you might have to take the engine apart to see how far the piston will slide up out of the sleeve before you feel it pinch. And if you did cook the piston and sleeve not a big deal since you can get a new set form the 'Bay for about $26-$55 Just do a search for "CEN Piston Sleeve" you will get a listing of several sets....
If you can't get it started after replacing the plug let us know and we will get you back up and running in no time
Good Luck.. And you dont have to sell it!!!!

I know I didnt sieze the engine because I took the head off and the piston is moving up and down all the way no problems. I replaced the plug and put it back together. I didnt start it up though being afraid the tuning wasnt right and its getting dark out. Ill try tomorrow. But I think the tuning is fine, according to my dad because there is nice clean blue smoke coming out of the exhuast.

I dont think you seized it, in fact I really dont think you killed it either. The truck is most likely fine. I have a piston that is black and the engine was running for awhile until it did die.. So I think you will be ok....

Update, well I spent all day here and there trying to get the truck started, it just wouldnt go. Then I got the bright idea of trying a different glow starter![X(] A few pulls later it started right up, sounded pretty good too. It might be running a bit lean though.

Alright, my last statement that everything was fine is totally wrong. I ruined both of my os 8 plugs in 1 night. I have no idea whats wrong with the truck![&:] When I did drive the truck I could hear this high pitch whine that came from the engine. The sound didnt come from the engine accelerating it was something else. There must be an air leak or something!!!!

ooh you do have glazing going on. Can you get some pictures of the cylinder wall from three or four angles, so we can see the walls which means the piston should down @ BDC(Bottom Dead Center). It would be better if you could completely disassemble the engine and get pics of all the mating surfaces. I'm sure you have a minor problem. If you work with us here we can figure it out, or you could call CEN just to see what they could do for you.
You engine is not dead, and if you had an air leak that actually made a high pitch, I dont think you cold get it started, Or more clearly, I would very surprised if you could get it started. As you tear the engine down check the crank bearings for free spinning or slop, If you heated the engine up that hot you could have very well damaged the crank bearings, again not a big deal, you can order a new block from the 'Bay for about $25-$50 with new bearings already in place.
Good Luck..

Update: well i sent in my engine to CEN about 2 weeks ago and it came back today. It just took awhile because of the shipping... But man, they did a great job rebuilding my engine, it looks great! Great job CEN. But now im just having trouble getting it started again. It might just be the ignighter again. But i can get the engine to turn over while giving it a little throttle but then it just shuts off right after. Any sugestions?

No It couldnt be, its 3.5-4 turns out
Edit, well after trying to start this thing for too long I burnt out the glow plug [
]. I have another glow plug, but its a Traxxas HD glow plug for the revo. I dont know if it works and the threads are a bit longer than the stock ones so it sticks a bit lower than flush with the head button? I really dont want to order more off tower and the LHS is all stuck up with traxxas products and nothing else. Any sugestions?

HSN or LSN?
I don't know what my LSN is, I only had to turn it I think 1/4-1/2 turn from stock and she would idle forever without the primerpump installed.
My HSN is 5 1/2 - 6 turns out the last time I ran. I'm out of fuel and broke so, since it's cooler now I should be able to turn her in some more from the temp drop around here.

You might need to play around with the LSN. Did you install the primer pump yet? If you did I hurd of people haveing to adj there LSN. That's next on my list when I get some more fuel, sometimes after a few full out runs back and forth to check the temps, when I slide her in sideways next to me to get a temp reading faster she stalls, once in awhile.

The only thing I can make out is that your HSN is below flush. U gota hold still for a few sec when you use a digital camra or it get's a poor quality. I hate to ask, but, can U take more pic's. Try leaning against something to steady your hand so it can come out clear
Is the traxxas plug a #8? EDIT: some plugs have a extra space or ring or some crap that is for compresion i beleave. U can't use that one

Darkfire, I see your problem!!! Take out the Checkvalve, Breakin your new engine, once its running well, then put the Valve back in and retune for the valve. I would say try to turn your needles in untill it starts and stays running, but I think getting it started is more important right now!!!
Let me know...I hope you did not change your needles yet

I would be pissed if my engine was fried.
