RE: LA1
They were pretty popular when they came out. I was living in Gainesville (Ga) at the time and went to a contest in Augusta and there were a couple there. That's where my midair happened. I had a Conquest with a Hanno on it also and so I went to it when the Desire died and never built another one. The Hanno I had on the Conquest was the best motor I ever owned. It had the red pipe too. I never had to do anything to it. I put it on the plane set the pipe like the directions said and never touched them again.

I'm sure you must have crossed paths with the original owner...I got a conquest IV kit from him too...Sounds like every one was flying the same stuff...lol
So you should build another!!

RE: LA1
One of our members just acquired the molds for the Conquest VI and VII among several others (from PAC). I believe he will be making an announcement shortly about kit availability.
The C IV was also kitted but by Larry Phillips (with several other great kits), unfortunately those molds seem to have vanished. The VI and VII use the same foam cores for wing, stab and rudder. The VI has a bit more fuselage side area. I had one of each and preferred the VI (with a Hanno, of course).
The Desire is a great flying airplane - I ran the pipe under the wing, too. I still have all the parts to build another. It's on my 'list'.

My dessire, plug in wing conversion. I think I still have lots of parts including fuse sides, cores, sheeted vertical stab and wings for another one. Just no FG parts.

Wood Titan wife - gone.
Glass Titan wife - Still here, definately a keeper!!
I built the fuse jig half way thru the Wood Titan wife's tenure. . .
The rails can be found at Home Depot, the rest is 3/4" MDF and 1/4-20 bolts / wing nuts / washers. The little sliders on the vertical supports is 1/8" lite ply. The critical part is having a good table saw to make sure all of your cuts are perfectly square. Luckily, Wood Titan Wife's father had a good table saw in his shop.

RE: LA1
LOL. . . she was in the "pre-wife" stage then. She had no idea I was posing her for a magazine cover photo when I took that picture. I had brought out the camera for some pre-maiden flight pictures and she came out to watch (we were in the stage of our relationship where she pretended to enjoy the flying field. . .hehehe). After a couple pictures with her kids I told her "OK, hold the plane like this. . . tilt your head like that. . . OK.. . smile!!" She could have killed me when I handed her that K-Factor. . . but she married me anyway. . .
.
This is why you Locktite every screw on your plane. .
