Make them use a 5 channel for the retracts. The modern pilots probably have forgotten where the gear switch is located. Now make those trim switches old, old school sliders, you know, no clicks, notches or beeps. Have to move it just enough trim, then land and GASP, move the clevis so the trims can re-centered. [>:]

Don't forget setting up the servos the right way because there was no "Servo reversing" and the 20 percent retract failure

Hello, everyone- I'm looking for a set of plan/draws and building manual for the EU1A epoxy glass/ foam airplane. I just inheritedan old kit from an estate of a club member, but there is no paper work in the box. The kit is by RC City, and has a 62" Span, 68"length for a 60-90 engine. There is a glass belly pan and header tunnel divider.

Have triedMrs. Dunphy without sucess and I have a call in to Dan Hines . Any help would be appreciated by whom ever builds this airplane.

Hi,

I have EU-1A "Aero Composites" Building instructions. I believe EU-1A from RC City and Aero Composites was made from same moulds (Aero Composites was the last company making EU-1A from the moulds as far as I know). No full scale (or down scaled) drawing with Aero Composites EU-1A (at least not mine). Some pictures withfull scale templates are in the building instructions. Rudder has a full scalescale drawing. Unless someone else that has a RCCity building instruction (and drawing if it was supplied) do not volunteer to give You a copy I could probably fix one for You in PDF from my EU-1A Aero Composites.

Thanks for the quick assistance. Mr. Dan Hines, Carolina Custom Aircraft sent me an original copy of the Aero Composites Manual which contains all of the info needed for completing this rare kit. I am very grateful and appreciative about the spontanious response I got from this forum and its active members. This kind of support makes our hobby a lot of fun and keeps the future alive and wide open for new modelers all over.

Thanks Again, Rich C.

How about the Jett 90 BSE. Unbelieveably crazy power. Either way, you cannot go wrong with Jett.

I got a Rossi 90 fire with the deal for my EU1-A, so that is what I put in it. The power is over the top. Searched internet and found another one in Japan, and paid alot for shipping, because when Dan sells his kits, I'm #5 on his list. I had researched alot for a suitable engine. Thought about an MVVS 90 whith positionable exhaust, but they seem to not be available anymore. One problem with these engines is ground clearance. Am swinging a 13" prop and design of plane is for 11". My plane seems to wobble some as I taxi out on grass, and might wobble some on taxi in, cause gear seems too spindly, but I don't rate a plane on ground handling. Hit the gas and suck in the gear, and rate it then. My plane weight is 12.2 Lbs dry, and this combo is breath taking. I feel that the Jett 90 Fire would be every bit as impressive. Oh,taxi wobble is no problem on pavement. Only problem with this plane is me, cause I can not fly 1/4 up to the potential of this teriffic airplane. Will take it again to Huntsville this year. Hope to see yall there.

Dave,

I am finally finishing up the final parts of the kit. After much drama here with work this entire year I worked this entire weekend on the EU1 A parts and will be very close to finishing by the end of the week. I realize that it has been a very long time getting this done and for that I am sorry but I promise you that it will be worth the wait. Thanks to everyone for their patience.

If anyone just wants a fuselage only, send me an email at [email protected]. My customers, ( and the guys on the waiting list) wanted complete kits and that is what they are going to get. They guys on the list will be emailed shortly as to when their kit(s) will be ready. The kits will be made from the original Aero Composites molds. Pictures to come shortly.
