not wanting to rain on your parade, but how far can you modify the shape of a curare and still call it a curare? A philosophical question really.
Rendegade,

according to classic TOC rules, I believe the figure is 10% - assuming of course that the Curare can be treated as a "scale" model (which it's not). Still, I believe Hanno entered the Curare in at least one early 1970's TOC.

Are you within 10% Don? Hanno's fuse length = 55", 10% would be 5.5". I guess if you stretched it 7" you'll have to call your ship something else Don!

Hanno first flew Curare in 1975. He was won the European Championships first time out in September, '75. Two weeks later, he was 2nd to Wolfgang Matt in the WC. In October, '75, he and Wolfgang traded places again. Hanno won the TOC with his first Curare.

For SPA, we currently stretch about 1-1/2 inches, but also slide the wing forward 1". Both are done to help balance the OS91 which is pretty much the standard SPA engine. The firewall goes back 1" to keep the nose the same. Firewall and formers are widened a bit if the engine is to be inverted. Dihedral and anhedral are according to plans. Messing with them will cause mix issues that Hans and Hanno solved long ago.

Purests stop reading. Fix gear, of course, for SPA. Almost exclusively tail draggers.
