RE: Classic Pattern Plane Image-base
ORIGINAL: casniffer Bo, I don't have any issues reaching trentonrcflyers.com. I'm in the States. I run the site. I'll find out from my hosting service if there is something blocking access from certain international domains or service providers. I had an issue with a few domains in Japan that were scraping data from the website and causing denial-of-service issues. They were blocked. That happened 4-5 months ago. Have you been to the site in the recent past? Thanks CAsniffer Yes it has worked before, maybe some months back it stopped working. I have tried to reach your site from different computers and from home and work. No luck. I checked what DNS servers are in use in my hardware router/firewall and it is two DNS servers that are automatically used from my ISP, in my case 195.67.199.27 as primary and 195.67.199.28 as secondary DNS server. I changed to Google DNS servers 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 but I can not still reach Your site. I have not a clue what may be wrong. /Bo |
RE: Classic Pattern Plane Image-base
I saw an Ultra Sport in the image base. Is the Ultra Sport considered a classic pattern ship?
Brian |
RE: Classic Pattern Plane Image-base
Brian,
You'll probably see a few planes out there that wouldn't qualify as a classic pattern plane. The UltraSport owes it's shape to some of the earlier designs. I put some of the later designs (post 1980) out there for comparison and because someone sent the picture to me. Early in the site's life, I asked visitors to suggest a qualifying cut-off date but did not receive any input. I guess I wing it when it comes to candidates and if it looks classic, I'll add it. Thanks for visiting the site and for your input. CAsniffer |
RE: Classic Pattern Plane Image-base
I'm curious as to the general concensus. The US is just a fancy Kaos. I'd lIke to know- personaly.

Hi Ca sniffer,
I want to thank you for the marvelous data base. I noticed that many of the links to articles and plans that used to work for me don't anymore. Is anyone having that problem. I loved reading the old articles! Thanks again Chuck |

If you open a command prompt and ping trentonrcflyers.com, what IP address do you get?
With Windows XP, click Start, run and in the run box, type cmd. It should open a DOS command prompt window. Type ping trentonrcflyers.com. With Windows 7, Click on the start icon, and enter cmd in the search box, type cmd and ping trentonrcflyers.com. Thanks CAsniffer |

RE: Classic Pattern Plane Image-base
George,
great to have an IT volunteer (professional?) on that side of the pond! Very generous of you to offer to host a Trenton pattern mirror that side of the Atlantic. David. |

So Greg,
how does she groove compared to your Tsunami? Power? Stability? David. |
RE: Classic Pattern Plane Image-base
David,
I've had so many problems getting a reliable engine idle, I haven't focused on flight quality at all. Been back and forth between the Webra carb and the Perry carb. Came back to the Perry carb yesterday. Idle is not bad now, but not like I've gotten used to with my O.S. .55 and .75 AX's. High speed landings are just not very pretty. Plenty of power, even for verticals, with the Webra Speed .61. Most of the guys in my club haven't seen (or heard) one of these things run. Five flights so far, I'll keep working it. Greg |

RE: Classic Pattern Plane Image-base
/Bo,
I changed web hosting services early this week and apparently they were blocking requests from certain domains, even though they denied doing so. The site was down for a couple of days during the transition. I'm glad this fixed your issues. There were several other counties/domains that were restricted as well, so I expect their access was restored. Thanks Steve aka - CAsniffer |
RE: Classic Pattern Plane Image-base
Site is Fully working For me in Australia :D:D:D
Thanks CAsniffer |
RE: Classic Pattern Plane Image-base
Works from Cyprus too... it's great to have this resource back!

RE: Classic Pattern Plane Image-base
Thanks casniffer, site works beautifully for me now. Such a valuable resource!

RE: Classic Pattern Plane Image-base
I'm glad access to the site for the people/countries/domains that were affected has been restored. It's costing about $60.00 more a year, but I have more flexibility, bandwidth, storage, email addresses, etc. I just won't go out to lunch as often. :-)
I have quite a few plane pictures to add to the site. I'll try to get that done over the next week or so. I have to go buy a car some time in the next two weeks, so I'm doing tons of research. I hate the car-buying process. Thanks CAsniffer |
RE: Classic Pattern Plane Image-base
lavi rider,
The Gladiator was designed in the early 70's by Ralph Brookes from Seattle Washington. My wife and I kitted the plane doing buisness as "Fliteglas Models". We sold Fliteglas Models in about 1984. Ralph Brookes won the world championships twice (about 1962) with an earlier design called the Crusador. I still have one of the kits in my collection. Plan to build it soon (maybe this winter). It is a great flying pattern ship. Ralph White, Neoga, IL |
