RE: Classic Pattern Plane Image-base

Hi all,
As he promised, I received another group of pictures on a CD from David Phillips. This time, he sent 74 images of planes and pilots at several events from the past. What a fantastic group of pictures. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

Thanks
CAsniffer

Hello Casniffer,

It's been a while since I visited your Image Base and its getting better and better!!!!

I have attached a couple of pictures of my newly acquired Dalotel. Please choose the one you like best. It would be an honor to have it added to your Image Base.

Keep up the good work....:D

As you know, I left out the original scans of the latest images David Phillips sent. Well, I posted them last night.

Thanks

hrrcflyer,
I couldn't decide, so I put both of them on page D. Actually, it's good to see the nearly top view picture so one can see the planform of the Dalotel. Thanks for the contribution.

CAsniffer,

I did finish the painting of my Taurus and you do not have the right pictures of the Taurus yet.
When you are interested you may use them.
It is the reconstruction of the Top Flite Taurus of Ed Kazmirski we see on the promotion pictures in the period 1962-1963.
It is THE example for all the later kit Taurusses from Top Flite and MAN Magazine we all know.
The name "Taurus" on the nose is only on the right side just Ed Kazmirski did have (a short time) in that period, also with these characters.

A long time ago I saw my Orion was mentioned in the database.
About that Orion.
I have to say it isn't a real Orion, inverted engine, retracts, not the exact fin and rudder, larger.
When there is a "better" picture, it maybe is good to remove the Orion to keep the database "clean".
Of course it is no problem when you not change the situation, I only want to write you this.

Success whit this beautifull action.
If you want to have the pictures of the Taurus by e-mail, let me know and I will send you.

CAsniffer,

I did not see all the Taurusses on the other location as the first one, on the end of page T.
You have enough Taurusses I see.

The taurusses from your Classic Pattern PLane Image Base as I show in this post are the same as I did show in the last post only from earlier date! I did change the color scheme because this and the name characters were not correct.

Casniffer:
I would like to echo others comments regarding your efforts to put this all together. I flew Tipo's and T2A's back in the day. I have always liked the ballistic planes and have collected a few (still NIB are a Conquest VI, Challenge V or VI, Dash 5 (60 size), a Finessee(sic), a Sahpir and one or two others that I can't recall). After looking at the first 34 images from the David Phillips collection I noticed the Ron Chidgey Tiger Tail III that is the first image. Just so happens that I have that exact plane in my model room. I bought it from my LHS last year. I have flown it twice but do not plan on flying it much. I would like to preserve it. I has the mechanical retracts, Webra 60 rear exhaust (with the TN carb and inflight mixture) and tuned pipe. It also has the Futaba FP 130 servos. It flies great.

Thanks for sharing all of this with us. I flew pattern in the mid 80's in central and southern California and probably have a number of old photos of planes at the Lancaster Ca field, Santa Maria CA field as well as Mile High and Las Vegas sites. I will look thru my archives and see if I can find some photos to send to you.

casniffer, What a lot of great work you've done.
I was very surprised to see a couple of my planes there too, thanks.
I noticed you're missing the Aeromaster.

pd1,
I have the Aeromaster pics ready to go up. Are you credited with being the owner of the plane in the pictures you mentioned? Let me know which ones they are an I'll be happy to add the info.

Thanks

Those were my planes. And yes, you did have my name on them.
Now I have a new Trainermaster, Minimaster, and Aeromaster all flying electric.

Thanks,
Paul

CAsniffer: Great stuff on your web site. I flew in the "pattern wars" out of South Augusta,CSRA field. I was sorry to see that the AugustaMKII image didn't post. The designer and builder of the Augusta, Darrel Kampshor, was a friend and pattern coach. Keep up the good work.

FBaity,
Did you send me an image called AugustaMKII and I missed it maybe? I certainly would not leave out any image on purpose. There are more than 1400 plane images, and several are of the same specimen, so you guys know I would post it if I had it. I would be happy to include any pictures you have.

Thanks

CAsniffer

CAsnifer, no there is a blank image on one page of you site with the name "AUGUSTA MKII"beside it. I flew the AUGUSTA MKII....no big deal was just hoping Darrel Kampshor would get some credit for all of his efforts, Darrel passed away several years ago. Great web site !!.
