I'm glad you've finally got your boiler fixed Donny.
It worked this time!!! Me and computers eh?
Your humble servant is in the cream shirt with a light check pattern. I feature prominently in the last few frames.

You'll all have to go to B2M Berry Marche Modelisme to see the festivities on Facebook. It's a Public Group.

To access this public group requires a login into Facebook. If one has no login, they can't see. Perhaps that is where the problem is. Not everyone has to have a login. Some prefer not accessing Facebook. I think many individuals who post there give up too much personal information without thought.

The newer ones are a lot better some are efficient down 5 degrees and can work as low as -13 degrees. I like heat pumps more for air conditioning than heat. They have higher seer ratings and appear to be a little heavier built. I pair my with a Natural Gas Furnace and run it in the cold winter with the thermostat set to "Emergency Heat" to make the gas furnace the primary heat source.

Well I got thru the deep freeze ok. Wood stove burned 24/7 and I did make that 7 day mark. My heating system did not turn on at all during that time. Good for the wallet. I have a system that I can check kilowatt hours used and also approximate cost. Easy to check. Now I'm back to starting the morning with a jacket on. Then take it off as the day warms. Warm is good.

This was my first successful r/c model, a Keil Kraft Junior 60, albeit, it's a bit like George Washington's axe, it's on its second fuselage and third tailplane! Many of the glue joints have been compromised by glow fuel. I plan to repair the model and fit an electric motor. This is what I started with and this is as far as I've got. Note the immaculate workbench.

Or a sign that a new build is going to happen!! Cleared my bench yesterday(well, the shelf above it needed cleaning, damned mice) sorted my stock pile and got the B-25 back on the bench. Completed the right wing aileron and outer flap. Have a DOH moment too, forgot the plywood backer in the aileron for the control horn, and just now, yes JUST NOW! Realized I forgot the control horn for the outer flap! Thats what happens when you put a project aside and come back to it later I guess.

I got the plan printed yesterday and it was nice to be re-acquainted with it, even if it's not quite the same plan that came with the Flair kit. It's a single channel plan but the fuselage is much the same. It cost me less than 15€ to have the Junior 60 plan, a much larger 40 sized pattern ship plan and a copy of the old Balsacraft Blenheim plan printed. 15€ is the equivalent of £13.26 Sterling or $17.92 US. I thought that that was pretty reasonable.I have built a box for the battery and will have to extend the lower nose blocks by 1/4"-1/2" (6-12mm) in order to hide the battery box. The alternative would have been to use 2300mAh LiPos instead of the 3300 mAh Lipos I intend to use to give extended flying times. My aim here is not to reproduce an original Junior 60 but to use the model as a basic trainer capable of twenty minute flight times. It may end up looking like one of those Merlin engined Bf 109s! I could cut a hole in the rear former and push the box further to the rear but I encased the rear undercarriage legs in a sandwich of three pieces of plywood and it would be difficult to remove the sandwich without damaging any thing. Besides I need as much nose weight as I can get. I'll post some pictures as soon as the nose structure is complete.
I plan to bolt the motor to a piece of 3mm ply which will itself be firmly glued to the balsa nose blocks. I am undecided whether to incorporate side thrust and down thrust as this could be adjusted with washers. What do the cogoscenti think?
Finally I'm going to re-cover the tail surfaces in Orange Solartex to match the wing. I realise that a "Vintage" colour would look better by showing off the structure of the model but the wing is already covered in "solid" orange and I have no intention of stripping away perfectly sound covering and replacing it with something prettier. I have plenty of Orange Solartex in stock but I've also got sufficient black or dark blue to cover the fuselage. Orange is a highly visible colour of course which is why life-rafts are orange, but would a different coloured fuselage aid orientation?

I think the orange fuselage trimmed in black would make it more visible, which is of great importance for a trainer. Of course I know you are already familiar with this, so what I say is redundant. Adding and tweaking side thrust would aid in aircraft tracking straight during powered flight and less trimming during low / off power and landing. Down thrust will help reduce elevator effect with power on.
The Junior has such a classic look to it. Found Outerzone has the plan, https://outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=1398 . It gives a little history on this 1955 (RC version) Keil Kraft kit. Since it was very stable as a free flight, naturally modelers sought it ought for single channel rudder only RC. Later, Keil Kraft did a few slight mods and sold an RC version. A similar styled kit, a Sal Taibi design was the 1939 Powerhouse here in US. https://outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=2526 . Indeed both are splendid aircraft with apparently the same proportions and originating around the same time.

Yep, it is HUGE! Their Reno Fulfillment is scheduled to close 2-28 this year. They are the exclusive distributor of OS and Futaba gear too. Maybe SIG can buy up their kit lines so they can stay in production. This will leave only Horizon in Champaign.

More like if Hobbico folds, so do all its subsidiaries. Hobbico owns Top Flight, Great Planes, Revell/Monogram, Estes rockets, and Revell Germany. Not to mention all Hobbico branded items.

At our weekly breakfast get together it was brought up that would be nice, IF, Dubro was able to pick up some of the 'old school' brands, IF, it came to that Carl Goldberg, Monokote, etc. and open up a division. Dubro as I know it, has varied companies that service different entities and overall I would think, one business would cushion the other during challenging times. If that was possible, maybe some of the 'name brands' would linger longer in the industry.
