Thanks for the suggestions! I checked them out they have a lot to offer. I'll have to acclimate myself to the user formats the downloading formats seem difficult or I just need to get my head together,.....................thanks again.

Balsa withdrawal fits has me all atwitter now that I am feeling better If these improvements continue I may get to put something in the air. the electric propulsion fans seem a good way to go for future projects, Over a period of time I have collected a lot of motors and ESC's but have not learned to put them to use. meanwhile I scan multiple plan sets for ideas and building techniques. You can bet If I live long enough my next shop will be at ground level, climbing stairs is no longer and option for me.

Other than David are any of you doing any building or flying? activity here seems quite dead. If I can get up to my shop and clean it a bit maybe I can get the King cobra finished.

Donny, make sure you get yourself a Watt Meter, they start at about$15. A Watt meter will allow you to test battery, motor, ESC, and prop combinations so you don't overheat or burn something out.

We're not dead, we're just distracted. It's coming on to second building season as the weather is alternating between tornados and 105 degree temps. I've been finishing up an Aeromaster with a K&B .61 and working on simulating a Teves &Braun radiator in 1/4 scale. The Aeromaster is done in Koverall and leftover car paint and radiator is built up with about 40 feet of plastic rod to simulate the tubes. It looks a little small but it needs the tank and flanges yet.

It will eventually be a 1/4 scale Pfalz DIIIa. It's been a 5 year+ project. Not so much because of five years of work but of five years of distractions. I've probably built a half dozen other airplanes in the mean time.

The upper wing is a bit of a surfboard.

You are not by yourself in the long term project department, I have one that is over 30yrs old. Is the wing the only part you have constructed?........ are Those carburetors on the shelf off of a MGB or the like?

Yes they are. I had a pair on my 1974 Rover before I converted it back to a single carburetter. Far less hassle!

I rebuilt an MGB for my daughter but had to give it to my son because the carb's had to be adjusted far too often.

I thought you were in Kamay Texas?

I had twin SUs on my Triumph TR-3A, tinker with different metering needles for the fun of it.

Wiring harness smoke? I've needed that from time to time when dealing with electric models.

Keeping the MGB running was a learning process, no starts in the morning was solved by turning the ignition coil upside down to stop moisture shorting out the primary wire. and the fuel pump gave me fits until I figured it out. (weird little thing) But driving on the street was fun, most people loved it I was afforded much attention. my son met a lot of young ladies with it. and worked for a guy that imported and exported them.

Sounds like the Triumphs were more liable. Only repairs I can remember was rebuilding the Clutch master cylinder, replacing the cork packing in the fuel cutoff, and fixing a fuel tank leak due to rust. I owned the car 6.5 years.

The vehicles I purchased required almost complete rebuilding short of the power trains. I believe my children would appreciate the cars more if they had to work for them, so they did much of the labor. they moaned and groaned a lot but when finished they had a lot of pride in the accomplishment and took better care of the vehicles. the painting of the cars really made them happy, and learned quite a bit about vehicle maintenance. we had four MGB's I didn't pay much over a few hundred bucks for any of them. I had to let them go shortly after we moved out of town.

The carbs came from an 1100 cc MG Midget parts car that donated some goodies to my Bugeye. The Bugeye still has its original 948 cc engine and H1 carbs. The carbs from the Midget/ later mark Sprite are just all around a better carb and will eventually upgrade the Bugeye. I restored the Bugeye back in the early 2000's and it's about ready for its third convertible top and the paint needs to be touched up in spots. There have also been a couple of MGB's through the years. The top photo is 1986, the bottom around 2009

It's been a long time since I've dealt with cars, to be honest I miss the challenges they presented, but time waits for no one and all that jazz is behind me now.

House hunting is on the front burner and we ain't doing so good, I find what would be a great place but it is always in the wrong location, Or some other thing that puts it beyond my use, so It looks like a land purchase is in the future with a home build which momma don't like. she wants to just move in, I prefer having a house built because I get what I want the way I want it. meanwhile I am stashing the pennies to make the biggest down payment I can so my monthly payments are minimized.
