Blamed For a CrAsH !!!!

Ok now i not sure if anybody has wrecked a plane in a way where it looked like it was pilot error but MANNNNN!!!!...... [:@][:@]
does it get on your nerves when the entire way home your friends talk about it like it was your fault
''Should'nt of been flying, it was to windy''
''Should of landed when i said something''
''You always gotta try something like a, Loop and Barrel Rolls''
''See!!! now thats what i'm talking about''
we had a P.O.S Airbus Electric Park Flyer, No Elevator, No Ailerons and i repeat P.O.S!!!!!
It was one of them 2' Wing Span, made out of plastic, Assembly Line , Japan Made , 50$ RTF , POS!!!!
Flying strait when all of the sudden, looked like I did some type of barrel roll and then lost control of it making it plummet nose first shattering in piece's into the ground..........
"Well here's the catch" i didn't pay for the plane, i was doing the Maiden Flight Test on it
But the Buyer of the plane thinking that i was doing a Barrel Roll when i didn't Press Anything PLUS!!! even if i were to try something like a Barrel Roll or a Loop, it would have been Imposable to do with that plane
:controls:
Throttle Up ---- Plane Went up
Left and Right ---- Left Prop Spun/Right Prop Spun
So Pretty Much it was a Glider....
So does anybody think they know what happened....
weather conditions
Clear
70ΒΊ
Wind 5-10mph wind gusts
steady Breeze 5mph
Flight Path:
Hand Launch
Figure Eight at about 30 - 40 feet above ground in a about a 30 square yard ratio
did about 20 passes
Wings were Strait when in about a half a sec the plane fliped 90% making the plane inverted,
and with the controls being limited the plane went nose first into ground
Could a Radio Hit do that??
Wind Gust??
a pothole in the sky??
a ghost??
turbulence??
all i can say is should'nt have wasted your money on a E-bay Impulse Buy......

If I had to geuss I would say a more then likly it was a wind gust under one of the wings cause it to flip over or one big ass thermal under one wing LOL
I would rule out a radio hit as it did not have the control to roll its self over
did it clime then yaw as climing you could cause a roll that way but it would be ugly and mostly just flip inverted and plow the ground
(P.S. I would tell your friend to learn a bit more on what is needed to make a plane roll IE ailerons or a ton of rudder )
with out seeing the crash it might be hard to call though I say tell him to get a real plane and forget the POS cheapy radio shack deals
dont know if this helps any but figured I would take a stab at it as I have crashed a few too LOL

I've tried a couple of those types of planes for something to fool around with in the back yard. They are so under engineered that I would refuse to fly one for anyone. I've only ever had one that flew with any real control and that was so light you couldn't fly it in any wind at all. Another problem even it had, was that one motor would always start to wear out before the other one and all any of them would do was fly in circles after that.

I think I know what you did wrong. You failed to run over the POS with your car when you got to the field! Either that or you shouldn't have been tryin them loopy barrel rolls.

never fly those things..they are just toys..tell the owner that there's too much to r/c flying (from the most simple to the most complex).. that you really dont know the reason to every crash, he has to know that a r/c aircraft is alot of control surfaces and parts that work in harmony, and if anything is off even by a little bit, it can affect the aircraft and even cause a crash.
Dont feel bad about it..if you werent trying to roll it (which will be extremely hard to do).. then it's not your fault..these toy r/c's are sometimes extremely unpredictable.. remember, quality/quanitiy, quality/price never do it the other way around.

I the First thing I tell an owner of a plane before I do the maiden flight on it is, That I will not be responible for anything that happens to the plane. In your case you never really had full control because thrust vectoring is a poor way to direct an aircraft in flight. Just be glad it was a toy and not some scale bird that someone spent alot of time and money on. All planes have an invisible expiration date on them. some are like milk and don't last very long less than a week and some are like tabasco sauce they stay hot for years.

I am one of the instructors in my club, and often come people to me asking for help,
like please adjust my plane, please test fly it, or if they are really new into this, they just want to see their own plane in the air,
and just have a great time looking..
But I always repeat: I will sure try, I will do my verry best, no matter what bad happens I am not to blame, and I will not pay a dime !
then they said: ok that is fair, lets give it a try.
Sometimes bad things just happens, and they always says: ok just bad luck and take it with a smile.
funny, they show up soon again to repeat the experiment, good luck that most of the cases it is with a happy ending.
Conclution: Always have specific clear rulez, so all know the consequences of their partisipation.
(sorry for bad spelling)

The clear rule is: If you're asked to fly somebodys plane by the owner, there is no liability. If you ask to fly somebody's plane, you are liable, so you better check it very well before taking it up."

Sad it happened my friend. I wonder why the owner couldn't try to fly the P.O.C. himself.
Toss it in the air and go. So cheap those things are who cares if they crash.
My stinson fuselage looks like a shrimp cage.

had the same thing happen to me with a firebird outlaw I picked up for my 10 year old son. Plane had twin props that control left and right, used thrust for up and down... Plane flew great with NO wind... I repeat no wind. you said you were flying with 5-10 mph gusts... with 2 foot wingspan, airplane rolled straight into ground and there is nothing you can do to save it.... at least the firebird was more durable.. crashed about 20 times hard until circuit board cracked... not worth the time to fix it....

I was at the field watching a mother and 8 year old son trying to fly a similar plane with no success. I offered to help and they were thrilled. The first flight it made a hard right and slammed into a metal walk-in container. It was actually OK so I adjusted the trim tabs to counter the turn and it actually flew and was controlable. I tried having the kid fly it while I had my hand on his but the thing was to squirelly to learn on. They were just glad to see that it flew. The wind came up while they charged the battery and in 5-10 mph it was unflyable. I'd guess that was your problem.

Best rule summation I have ever heard. [8D]
I am going to make a sign and post it on the club board for all to live by.
As far as the "plastic wonder" goes, fogetaboutit - My buddy bought one, crashed it a BUNCH of times, then chucked it. Never did "fly", more like a barely controllable wobble to the death

Yep. I know what you mean by people talking like it's your fault. I was flying my 27% Edge a while ago, torque rolling at less than a foot when the engine bogged and then quit.[:'(] Then someoneone goes about letting all the club know saying "Too low and too slow" and "All his fault". Fact is, when doing 3D, you're never too low unless your IN the ground and your only too slow when you're not flying.
