I will post some more when I get home. Yes this replaces the battery tray but can attach over it (not with the SAVS board as the battery extension gets in the way) - however the front leg (riser) inhibits some of the motion. By replacing the existing tray, I am able to attach other mounts (within 10 secs) for different purposes - i.e battery only, night flight lights, or just hacking around.

It just occurred to me that your buddy was flying your df with a camera and the sav baseplate...was the wireless camera also attached? I thought the SAV board and wireless camera weigh 4 oz, so that plus your digital camera is dragging an anchor around. I think the baseplate looks like it weighs at least 2 oz. alone?

Even with me not being an experienced pilot, I had the video and still cameras attached at the same time and flying was not a problem. I was surprised that I did not even have to get into the throttle much more than usual, although I did have to launch out of a 5 gal bucket...

My flight time was limited by the sudden power outages resulting in frame customization (crash!) but with the GentLED set for 8 seconds and I guess I was aloft about 3 minutes the last flight doing the math I got a bunch of pictures. If (again) I was an experienced pilot I would not need more than 5 minutes to take all the pictures I needed at each athletic facility I am taking stills of. My DF came with the HD motors and I did not notice any real heating up of the motors (although the mud packed into the bottom of each motor made a good heat conductor).

And the gentled...Well your pics are pretty sharp, can't wait to see more when you get your DF back. Shouldn't be too much longer, DFI should be thawing out a bit now. I hear the temp in Saskatoon was -40C for a few days (thats so cold that you no longer need conversion -40C=-40F).
