ONCE AGAIN MY COMPUTER IS ON THE FRITZ

now at friend's home using a PC. Had to say that I found a VERY REMARKABLE show that I had posted
for y'all to enjoy. My archives have a bunch of good stuff
Has anybody EVER heard of a biplane (TravelAir) powered by STEAM ? this documentary shows it
clearly. Notice when the plane is on the ground, it goes forward, stops and then backs up by reversing
the pitch. In flight it is as silent as an electric.
Truly interesting.....stay tuned.....my PC is promised back Mon or Tue.
will post this show, first thing
when I clicked OK to post the entry the PC died right there. [>:]

I have sent off for the BLADE SR. Pomised for the end of JAN or mid FEB. I like flying the mSR so much
that this one must be just as good. Plus I read that it can be greatley UpGraded with a DX7 or a DX6i
so: for the opening shots I have a steady heli......just right of OLD FOLK like me ..[&o]
this was based on the lead sent by Choppers, with the film made of the BladeSR at the AMA convention.
...... lead was sent by JAY and I thank you for that

Geez Jay, what an awful story! To dosomething like that in the daylight shows the person is very desperate of more likely looking to feed a "habit" if you will. Wither way thanks for the heads up. Usually I open our garage door first thing to get the paper and leave it open till the kids are done outside at night. Need to think twice about that now.

Back from our trip in no broken bones to report

Rick- You need to keep that PC running, you find the most interesting stuff to share with us

JPEE- excellent find! Thanks for sharing.

Jim,

That red head is hot...

Hey, Planker guys,

Now that I'm retired, I have a lot of extra time to browse the net. Here's crazy Dave the Nightflyer, with a tip on Wing Saving..and or other wings. Something to try out if you see fit.

Kyle- Be sure to take lots of pics for us that can't go. You know, the new releases and products vendors will surely have on display.

Anyone doing any flying lately?

Jim,

No flying here, to cold or to windy. Just taking it easy. I've been spending a lot of time on the Phoenix Sim, it's a hoot.. You've got a ton of helis and planks to choose from.
When I fly the Trex 600 on the simulator or any 450 size, I take it seriously and try my best...It is a learning tool and not a game as some my think. Good investment...
I just wish I would have done it A LOT sooner, getting a sim.

Dave- Are all the Parkzone planes available for Phoenix? I'm considering a new sim as FS One has been abandonded by Horizon. I read a little about Phoenix but haven't looked at whats available to download. I do think with multiplayer, it would be a riot to get a few of us together for some "formation" heli flying sessions!

Eric- I hope you've been busy working on the next radio video!

Jim,

Here's the web site of all the models currently available. Plus they have a host of flying sites too. Each model can be tweaked, per say, to your own flying style. Also, wind and turbulance factors. Nice thing about the Phoenix Sim, is that as they release new models, it's all free to download. When you start the program, one of the things that it checks for is new upgrades to the program and new models. Nice feature there for sure. I would highly recommend it.[8D] The multiplayer is a plus.

Dave,
I don't look at it as a game either... more like real time learning. AFPD sounds much like the Phoenix as you can input many variables, although I rarely use them unless adding thermals when soaring. I'm spending a lot of time on the sim lately to keep the reactions instinctive.

Blessings,

Jay

Thanks for the link Dave. I'm like you, when using the sim I try specific things in order to learn them. Or practice touch and go's with a new plane. With FS One they have some great lessons teaching you new maneuvers and show you the stick inputs while they do them which is a real nice feature.

The kids, on the other hand, like to crash on purpose. [&:]

Hello Jim,

Jim, I picked up a 10x7 prop today for the T 28. The last prop was a 10x5 and I chipped it coming in, in that hard wind. The stock prop was a 9.5X7.5 so I am thinking I am still golden on the ESC taking the load. "IF" the wind stops I will try a flight tomorrow. If I hear the prop sing like a bird or the ESC gets hot after a flight I will know which way to go.

Eric ~

No stranger here.... Just distracted at the moment. Haven't flown a heli since mid November ! Yikes.... Well, I did get a hover and a short mini flight in the yard since then. So when are you gonna check into Google ad Sense for your website so you can start making that cash flow once ya got some serious traffic roaming through your site ? I always had thought that possibly that was your early intentions... You should look into that.

..........And remember...... No taking TX's apart again. We know what happens..... And also don't mention TX's to Vic. That's a soft spot right there for him... (LMAO)...

Take care Eric,

~ Jeff

Your humor has been missed, Jeff. Hope all is going well! I just brought you up to JPEE the other day, seems he didn't weigh an old part compared to a new one like you would have. His problem may have been avoided if he did

JPEE_ Hope for low winds today for you, I'm curious how it will all turn out.

Eric- I'll catch that video later, got to get somr breakfast.

OH Great! I got Jeff in one ear.. 'Don't take those TX's apart' and JPEE in the other 'HEY LOOK IT! BACKLIT TX'S!'... Thanks a lot, you two!

*Sigh*... I am tempted to try it again, though... But oh those ribbon cables are such a pain... Must leave it alone for now. I will try again when I find a used broken DX-7 on the buy/sell/trades.

Well Jeff, as far as the google ads and what not... It was never my intent to have any click-through links or advertisements on the site. The primary reason being is that it annoys me when I see it on a site, so I don't want to do that to mine. The money I put into the equipment, both video hardware and software, as well as the r/c equipment will never be recouped... but that's okay, I do it to keep me busy when work doesn't, and maybe it will help someone. (and by comments and emails, it has, which is *really* nice to hear)

So, I'm one of those long time web developers that is still bitter about the first days of banner ads, and how everybody wanted them on their site, it was the next big thing. It got under my skin big time.

The only two options I've even considered for developing any type of recouping funds (let's not even say the word profit ) is to do two things:

Perhaps have some sort of affiliate link related to a specific product I'm reviewing, fixing, whatever and the site(s) that sell the product. It's not a banner ad, it's more of a kickback thing from the link on my site to go to their site. But I'm not really considering it at the moment because it's such a small site, and with 100 hits a day it's not going to drive it.

The other option which I may look at doing at some point is to take the articles/videos and put them on DVD and/or Blu-Ray and sell them as a package. That way they're free on the website/youtube/video, but if you want to put a few bucks down to get a disc of higher quality versions, there ya go.

That's really about it... Haven't given a lot of thought to how I can recoup any funds or make money with it. It's still so young and I have so much content to produce or recapitulate!
