Wheeeeeeee.......... Blade CP!

Heh crash........tore apart my other stock TX from Venom and cabbaged a switch out of it. Its a lil bigger, but same setup....... just have to drill the hole out a little to get it in. Both switches on the other tx are not hooked to anything so will plug the hole on the other one.....and use this one. It seems beefier too! And is shorter.

Welcome aboard Barrick,
Here's the link that ArrowNaughtic was talking about, Radds School of Rotary Flight. It's a ten step program that will get a new heli pilot off the ground if followed deligently. Just take you time and be patient. Any questions after you get your CP, just post and we'll get back to ya.
Here's the link (it's down for maintenance right now): http://www.dream-models.com/eco/flying-index.html
Good luck and have a great time with this heli hobby,
Dave / Choppersrule

Arrow...glad you found a switch. The stock switches are too easy to accidently trip due to length. The link for radds is posted someplace in the front of this thread (I posted it for ARROW in the beginning). Just tinkering today. Got the barrel install/index done so back to the heli. Playing with stability and possible "tail out" at low level. Stability is GOOD.

thanks so much for the welcoming mat. it will probably work for me. Would somebody be so kind to tell me where to find PITCH GAUGES, BLADE BALANCERS, TOOLS to fit these MICRO SIZE HELICOPTERS. So far I have only seen the SIX PIECE set offered in HorizonHobby for these small helis. ? In point of fact : do these SMALL items exist, or do you ADAPT the regular sizes ? one of the VIDEOS actually shows a PITCH GAUGE being used , even if it was oversized. Just asking !

Barrick,
Here's one site that has Pitch Gauges and Blade balancers. http://www.helihobby.com/html/blade_tools.html
As far as tools go, for the CP, just some jewelers phillips head screw drivers and .5mm hex allen wrench. The CP package will come with the phillips head screw driver and one .5mm allen wrench.. However, when you come to a point to change blade grips, you need two .5mm allen wrenches.
You can go to google.com and find anything you need. Also, you may want to find some hobby shops in your area that supports the CP.

LHS...my closest one is 38miles. The have a poor to non-existant inventory and they don't know anything about Blade CP or CP-Pro, yet they stock them. It's a win-win situation for me. At least horizion is in IL, and I'm in MI so I get parts in like 3 days. If you have a question or you get a bad part...they make it right and do it fast and answer questions the best they can. Some stuff (4-1's) run a little steep when you add shipping, but E-Bay sells NIW units for $64.00 shipped (check all options when buying high ticket items and save some bucks).

Crash,
38 miles wow, you live in the boondocks. Mines is only 5. However, they only carry stuff for the CP/ CP pro and the CX versions.
If i need 2 parts, they only have one of them. Murphys law. Plus nothing for my Trex. I usually order on-line and take the shipping charges as part of the hobby expenses. With cost of gas, even for the short distance and them not having what I need, the shipping charges are almost a wash.

Hi All!
welcome Barrick!
you have come to the right place!
your blade balancing question reminds me to ask a question
some where loooong time ago i read something about balancing the blades at 1/2 span?
this would be to get tip and root same weight--do i remember correct?
if so is the span measured from shaft to tip and then balance at 1/2 way point?
or is it measured from some where else?
looks like the blade has to go onto back burner for awhile---thought i was looking at a clutch plate failure in racecar.
its something worse---pinion in hewland turns but not the ring!can kinda see the teeth through the fill hole and they look ok--they dont mesh--at all. would suspect a bearing failure but dont feel or hear it.
im thinking the ring gear flange must have broken off the rest of the diff carrier!
or ring gear bolts ALL broken?dosnt make sense and have to tear it down and see--expensive and work i didnt want to do now.
i will check in every day and work on copter if i can

Does anybody know how well the Microheli Precision CNC Head System works on the Blade CP Pro? I am more concerned with 3D inverted flight thatn anything and overall performance. Also, which gear to use with the system... Does it have the CP's Bell-Hiller Mixing arms or the CP Pro's? The item can be found here... [link=http://www.microheli.com/mhshop/product_info.php?cPath=98&products_id=366]http://www.microheli.com/mhshop/product_info.php?cPath=98&products_id=366[/link]. Please let me know if it is worth it to buy, or if it just inhibits performance.

To all you guys,
Basically 3-D, means three dimensonial(spelling). hard to explain, but you can fly the heli in any direction and inverted.
Here's a link of Alan Szabo Jr. flying some extreme 3-D. He is rated as one of the best heli flyers in the world. I chose this video, cuz it downloads fast. If you want to see more of his videos, just google, "Alan Szabo Jr" he is the best. Check it out.

Good job Arrow! Dave...this question's for you. The rest of us don't know what 3-D means.

We all know what 3D is, just being sarcastic because we're all NOOB's here and it'll be a loooooong time before we're ready for the crazy stuff. We're just trying to achieve forward flight and "tail out" hovers LESS mechanical problems we keep encountering during the learning phase.
#219
bkress..........One needs to ask you......... Are you already proficient in FF and tail out hovering? Is your rotor head already worn out? (plastic stock one)
That for sure is a great upgrade and would certainly be a nice addition to any heli as it has a huge difference over durability and precision. I have drooled over it many times but I know me and realize I am not ready for that level of preformance. I bought FSOne flight sim and practice on that at least twice daily. I still cannot achieve a stable hover with that. I do try FF techniques when I am at the end of my "practice" but all that does is remind me how far I am still away from hands on stuff.
Bottom line is........... yes..great addition and would actually probably help in hovering, ect. As far as bell hiller.....your CP Pro already has that head on it.
I am not sure if this helps or hinders you, but keep us all posted.........and if you buy it.......... YOU have to post pics on here so we can drool with you! Good Luck!

Based on the tried and true Blade CP platform, the Blade CP Pro adds the lightweight power of a 3-cell 800mAh Li-Po battery pack, the lightning quick cyclic response of Bell-Hiller mixing, and the upright or inverted agility of symmetrical main rotor blades

Sorry, I don't like someone being sarcastic. I take great offense to that. I'm done with this thread.

barrick,
welcome to the forum, this is a great place with lots of great info!
you're lucky to have found such a great resource before even getting your heli, it took me several crashes and some $ in repairs.
my advice read the threads, while waiting for UPS.
another good site

To the group tracking this thread. We are a group of people trying to figure out what we got ourselves into. It's sometimes fun, frustrating, EXPENSIVE, and a learning experience. Be you 16 or 80, we welcome you to share your problems and or experiences in helping others fly this thing called the CP Blade or CP Pro. On occasion, someone will say something in fun you might find offensive. Use the PM system to straighten it out...it works. A little humor works wonders when your frustrated. No one here to this point has ever intentionally tried to be condensending, arrogant, or plain abusive. I am so sorry I have to even post this. My apoligies to the group...lets carry on, shall we?
