I think that the stock battery to my ccp is junk already. It seams to charge fine according to the charger, solid red and green while charging solid red when done charging, its only 35minutes of charging when it should be more like a hour befor the green light on the charger goes off.I have a couple of chargers 1 is brand new so I dont think that it is a problem with them. I am only getting 2 minutes of hoovering befor the batter is dead. The battery itself looks fine ,not swollen.Would you say its the battery? What battery can I use (other than stock) that will work with the stock charger?
Thanks all

If you have a voltmeter, check your voltage on a freshly charged battery....... It should read around 12.5V ........If not....it your charger, especially if you are using the Eflite ones. if you don't have a voltmeter, try to borrow one from a buddy. It's worth knowing for sure that its either the battery or the charger.
For lipo's, go to www.commonsenserc.com they have a great selection of batterys available. Let us know what ya find out

You are checking off the balance connector, which is fine, but your number for each cell are way off. If you measure the voltage from the JST connector, it should read right at 12.4 to 12.5 volts. On the balancing connector keeping the negative voltmeter lead on the black balancing plug pin, you should be able to reead across the connector by checking each pin. 1rst pin will read one cell..... next pin will read 2 cells........last pin will read all 3 cells.......
Your reading showed 3 volts on one cell...and 4 in the other 2....that means your pack is way out of balance. Take a reading off the output (JST) connector and see what you have.

yeah, that's true unless there is like 3.7v in each cell, then he would be reading 3.7, 7.4 and 11.1, but that last reading wouldn't match up... =P hrm, you do make a good point arrow
on the balance end if you number the contacts 1 2 3 4, measure 1 and 2 record that voltage, measure 2 and 3 and record that voltage and then finally 3 and 4.... all of them should be the same and between 4.1 and 4.2v
35 min to charge sounds really suspect. You might also look at your main and or tail motor and see how hot they are getting because they might need replacing. Also your battery could be toast if you have run it below 3.0v under a load one or more times. I find a good battery meter makes alot of difference that way. I use this one
http://www.heli-max.net/mediawiki/in..._Battery_Meter
but there are several out there.

i check voltages using my trusty old pocket sized radio shack digital multimeter.
anyhow, i have a few cheap 10C lipos and they don't fly my heli. i've always had good luck with thunder power lipos on all my aircraft. i use thunder power 3s1320, 3s910, & 3s730 packs on my cpp. the 1320 & 910 are good for everything but advanced aerobatics, but my personal favorite lipo for the cpp is a [link=http://www.aeromicro.com/Catalog/thunder_power_prolite_3-cell_730_mah_li-poly_pack_tp730-3sj_3444594.htm]tp3s730[/link].
if you go with tp lipos, you will need a charger or adaptor to fit your charger. if you get the 730 lipos, they don't have a node connector so you'd need a standard lipo charger. my favorite for all my lipos is the [link=http://www.hobbyhorse.com/chargers.shtml]apache 2020 charger[/link]. i've had many cycles on my tp packs and they're all still in balance with the apache.

Ok checking voltage on the charger lead the red one reads 12 blue is 7 and the and the yellow is 2.Reading off the jst is 12.I did check the motors after the 2 minute hover and nothing was hot.
Looking at other battery brands ,I notice that some only come with just the jst lead and nothing for the charger. How would one go about charging the battery?

hrm... can you take the voltage on the balance connector from the black to the yellow, then the yellow to the blue then the blue to the red and give back those voltages? If you can give them to atleast 0.1v.

How are the thunder power battery? Will the thunder power 3c 11.1 volt 910Mah battery work well with both the heli and the charger?

oh, sorry =P I forgot about that, here you go
http://www.commonsenserc.com/product...products_id=85
or you can check out the rest of the connectos here
http://www.commonsenserc.com/index.p...&show_all=true
with the voltages on your lipo pack, it sounds like one of the cells is going bad. If you get a chance, and want to know for sure, measure them like this http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=5879313

yes, the adaptor allows you to charge tp batteries with your stock charger.
also, you're voltages show 2 cells at 5V (12-7=5, and 7-2=5), and one cell at 2V. less than 3V on any cell means the battery is trash. "balanced" = all cells within 0.1V max.
my tp lipos have never gone unbalanced, but i never abuse them. abuse includes overcurrent (full throttle with rotor(s) buried in dirt), or under voltage (any cell <3V, usually caused by flying a minute longer than you should).
