The AR6100 is better. The AR6000 was ment for the DX6. And the AR6100 is ment for the DX6i and DX7. The AR6000 uses DSM and the AR6100 uses DSM2. I can't remember what DSM stands for off the top of my head. I personally like the AR6100 better. It is in my Gaui right now and used to be on my CPP. Both are for parkflyers and can not be used for long range flying and both can be used on parkflyer helicopters and airplanes. If you want long range flying I would go with the AR6200 and those are in my T-Rex 450 and 600.

Jeff,

Did you know Align makes a T-Rex 500 ESP now?

Here is the Align link to the 250. I like the close up pics.

that 250 looks so nice, eventually I'm going to get one, I really wish people would pay me on ebay, I'm going to buy a spectrum dx6i and a reciever when I get the money in my paypal, I'm going to get the radio and reciever first and then wait untill christmas for a helicopter to use it on.

I thought my second AR6200 was defective in my 450 before, but once I hooked it up to my Align 6A voltage regulator it is working every time. I thought I would have to send it into Horizon and have them fix it delaying me putting it into the 600, but now I don't have too. I guess this one doesn't like being powered by the BEC in the ESC. It is nice having a switch on the Align BEC, so I can hook up the receiver battery then turn the power on which seems to be working better. It is also nice I won't need to buy anymore receiver batteries, since the Gaui and CX batteries work just fine for that. So I have the 1800mAh receiver battery that came with the kit and 6 7.4V 800mAh batteries from the Gaui and CX. So I can fly pretty much all day. It is also cool that the regulator has some LED's to show how much voltage the pack has, so I know when to put a new one in.

Helistyle,

So are you now deciding not to get the B400?

Jeff,

I am starting to notice a lot of slop in my T-Rex 450 swashplate with some 160+ flights and was thinking about getting a new swashplate soon. I know you have the MicroHeli head, but do you have the stock swash or the Microheli one? That is about the only alternative swashplate I can find, so I would like your input on how well it is doing if you had the swashplate.

Nick ~

Yeah my Trex 450 has the Microheli one, and its not to bad... No slop so far.... had it for about 8 months or so. You'll probably have to make your ball-links a little bigger by reaming them out with your tool, but no big deal... I don't like the Rotor Housing's of Microheli's, but everything else has been holding up pretty good... They do use a softer aluminum from what I hear, but the grips, and swash, our still pretty strong...

Im not sure what I want lol, I know im deff getting the spectrum dx6i and the ar6100, but as of right now im just going to get them so I have a good radio and reciever then go from there. On the ar6100 do you need seperate batteries to run it, I thought I saw you talking about that, maybe I didn't read right lol

no you don't need seperate rx batts. Oh and there are two different ar6100 rxs that one and the ar6100e also the dx6i comes with I think an ar6200 but I'm not sure if it's that or the ar7000 but you can check the spektrum website to see. Also the dx5e is pretty affordable but it depends on what you will be flying on the transmitter hope this helps

dont want the dx5e considering it only has one model memory compared to the dx6i which you can store 10, hmm decisions lol

The DX5 is an airplane transmitter. The BEC from the ESC powers the receiver, servos, and gyro. I haven't checked if there are a lot of packages with the DX6i, but for the DX7 there are plenty that come with the transmitter, receiver, and 3 servos. That is the route I went with. I think it was called the micro lite heli combo. It came with the DX7, AR6100, and 3 DS285 servos. So pretty much most of the electronics for a 450 sized helicopter.

I am using a receiver battery for my T-Rex 600, but not the 450.

Evan, Heli,

Man, I am upset...I was waiting to see who the winner was....the one with the Blade 400 first!! LOL!

Last night, I thought Heli was in the lead....now it looks like Evan has made a pass for first place...LOL!

It's all good, at least you are both getting new helis soon...

Heli, I bought my DX6i new for the CP Pro, and it came with the AR6200 reciever (with the satellite receiver)...and it comes with NiMh batteries and a charger... a real nice addition!

The difference between the AR6100 and the AR6100E is that the terminals for connections come out of the end on the "E"...like on the stock B400....and the 6100, the terminals are on the top.

Hope you can make your mind up soon Heli!!

Heli,

The stock B400 comes with the DX6i, but no rechargable batteries or charger....and it comes with the AR6100E....because of where the receiver is mounted, it's easier to have the wires come out of the end, as all the connectors are at the rear of the heli's frame.

Like Glenn said the B400 comes with the DX6i and AR6100E. That is why I was asking if you are still wanting the B400 since they already had those and it would be cheaper that way unless you wanted another helicopter besides the B400.

Heli,

You might want to think about buying the radio first if you think you are going to go with the B400....most of the beauty of buying a B400 RTF is the great deal you get on the whole package...

If you buy the DX6i now, and the heli later, it's going to cost more that way....almost for sure, unless you buy a used B400...

But, if you are unsure on the heli, and you might want a T-Rex 250, it might not work out too bad. It's totally up to you!

All I'm saying is that it's hard to beat the package deal that the B400 RTF offers...
