Also why can't it touch the servos? just vibration or something els?

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

hi guys ...
happy new year ¡¡¡¡
well my cp pro will arrive by friday but now i`m scared  ... this is my first heli (thanks to commander bob helping with the feddback) ..
i`m thinking to buy a sim and found the pre flight what do you think about this sim (do you think is necessary sim) or i there is another one...
the thing is a need it by friday too because i `ll be on vacation and i'll leave saturday...
thanks in advance...
BTW any advice on my first (flight) or should wait for the sim..

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

I have preflight and I never got it to work on my computer... the program works but the interface cable is no good (it uses a microphone jack instead of a USB port) I got it to work once on a laptop but it never worked again...
There is no way to select the jack where the Tx is.
It is not my computer because my computer finds my Tx just the sim doesn't.
I would not recomend pre flight.

Also I never used a sim and I did not break too many parts (I did not break any until I started side in hover)
I feel that sims are not very good because of the perspective and you have no depth perception (you may think that tree is a few feet away but you hit it).
Save your money and spend it on parts.

Do you mean use the same tape but have two strips of it with a gap between the strips? that what it looks like in you picture...

The gyro came with the foam tape on the bottom... it is a square with a whole in the center and a cut in the side to the whole it's kinda a U shape.
Yep, it looks like they did the right thing on the bottom mounting tape. But did the instructions also say to secure it sideways like in your pic? I'd still suggest removing that bit (between the gyro and the servos) unless the instructions say otherwise. VIbration from the servos, emp from the motor in the servo, just having it secured that way stiffens it up fro the bottom tape so it doesn't isolate as well, etc. The gyro works by vibrating a tiny silicon ring, so extra vibration can be confusing.
And do loosen up those wires, give it a little slack so it can wiggle.

I don't know if this will help the specific problem when you turn the ch.5 knob to the right but it should improve the performace generally.

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

Uncle Sir,
i had a bit of this prob before,....it was due to 2 factors.
1st when i broke blade grips I didnt notice that the part where the mixing arms attach to the blade grips had a little shim and a washer (cuz they flew off in crash)
So I assembled it with out those and tightened the little screw that holds the mixing arms onto the blade grips too tight and the mixing arms did not move freely enough.
The second part of my prob was a lack of lube EVERYWHERE. Make sure the spindle and Orings are lightly lubed and the Center hub/rotor head and the mainshaft where swash sits. everywhere (except ball links) that moves when pitch is increased/decreased. detach servos from swash and then do some playin around by hand to confirm that everything moves very smooth and freely.
If you have already tried all this just disreguard my ramblings.
I just know it was like magic when i figured all this out on my bcpp. This also got rid of a wobble in the bird while hovering that I had been going crazy over for days...

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

can someone tell me the effects in flight of running higher or lower heads speeds on the bcpp?

chopperdudes 01-04-2007 01:12 PM

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

higher headspeed will make it more stable, more responsive, and better for 3d flights, handles the wind better, and usually damages more things in a crash.

I am now able to hover fairly good (2' to 4' foot) :D thanks to Radd.

I have duel tail setup stock motors and do not have HH. When the tail motors spin up I notice it drops in altitude. Is this normal or is there a way to stop it?

Your motors are probably drawing current away from your main motor...

Now that I have the gyro and DD the tail is way heaver than the front... How do you balance your? Moving the battery is not enough (there is only like one cm. of Velcro touching)

Here are some new pics of my new gyro mount...

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

you might need to shorten your tail boom. also, hows the dx6 setting up?

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

I'm going to go spin it up and see what happens with the new tail and wood blades...

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

best of lucky, i'd recommend the throttle curve as something like 0, 70, 100. and linear pitch curve as a start.

Thats what I was thinking. Will I need to go Bl to fix this?

I have seen someone make a new battery holder. You could do like me I use a 1500ma battery.

My DX6 did not come yesterday :( It will probably come today... It was shipped last thursday via Fed Ex.

If I shorten the tail boom won't the tail motor have to draw more power to run? less levrage

It got light on the skids but thats all. I might need to increase my pitch... It's at -1 or 0 with on throttle. If I got a BL motor would that help???

Fly heli fly

chopperdudes 01-04-2007 02:26 PM

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

definitely a bl motor will help. i seriously doubt that both of your batts are dead at the same time, but you might want to try another batt to see. but is your headspeed dropping or fast when your light on the skid?

Commander_Bob 01-04-2007 03:02 PM

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

I just flew it again with a fully charged pack. It stayed up for around 2 min!!!! A NEW RECORED! The head speed seemes find (it is pretty fast). The tail kinda waged a little. I think the gain was set a little too high. I got it to around 6Ft. with full throttle and then the slow decent to ground effect...
At least it is working better...

The replacement pitch links may be different but I am willing to bet the ones that come with it are not one sided. (The replacement blade grips are different than the stock. Al least mine were)

Here is some evidence this is Page 33 of the maunel. Look at the bottom I circuled it in green.

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

i've always adjusted my links 1/2 a time. it did develop some lateral play over time, but i think this play is minimal when considering your 1/2 a turn off. justin, did you ditch the plasti blades when you hovered last time?

I'll have my Spektrum AT 5 today :D:D:D:D:D

Would increasing the pitch help with this?

It still flys good. Just have to be ready for it to drop some when moving the tail back to center.

be more specific, when your hovering, your tail motor will always be turning, do you mean when you give it right rudder?

lanny2003 01-04-2007 03:42 PM

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

Yes. When I add right rudder.

chopperdudes 01-04-2007 03:45 PM

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

first of all, make sure your not accidentally moving your collective when giving rudder commands, ie. lowering the throttle stick. do you have the stock tx? the clicks, even though they are not good, will help you determine that. yes, dual tail motor does draw more amps, but shouldn't be so significant as to have a drop in altitude. do you hear the headspeed droping? or is it just drop in altitude?
