The blades are Eflight and being my first CF blades, I am completely impressed with Eflights quality. WOW! these things are perfect. The YELLOW is just a 6"x36" sheet of "trim vinyl". Piper cub yellow. My LHS has a lot of parts for large, scale, planes. I got the design idea from Align . They color some of there white blades. The only thing I do not like about these blades is that you can't see them inside. At all! :( Not any more, Mellow Yellow, and the design looks pretty cool... When you notice that you need significantly more throttle to hover or maneuver, you will be landing pretty quickly. The eflite transmitter is basically a standard 6-channel radio with built-in eCCPM mixing. It has a buddy jack on the back, the round one, a standard patch cord will work with the radio, but I don't know if the radio will work with FMS since you can't turn off the eCCPM mixing feature in the TX. Don't overdischarge your battery, let it cool off a few minutes before you recharge it (I put mine in a fireproof tray until I'm sure it isn't on fire, that is, it is in fact cooling down and not continuing to heat up), don't overcharge, don't charge at more than 1 C, do use a cell balancer, inspect carefully (and put in the fireproof tray for a while) after crashes, even minor ones. If a cell swells, don't use it. I put a hatchmark on mine every time I recharge it so I can know how old it is. I'm running out of room on some of them, over 60 recharges and still going strong. |

I heard about a guy who was training a student with a larger nitro heli, and the student screwed up and it hit his instructer. He was decapitated.

I've stopped flying my MX400Pro indoors after hearing about Heli_Harry's blade grips coming off, electric or not it could kill me just as dead.
Also I never fly truly "tail in", always a little to the side, so if the tail blade decides to separate I'm out of the path. The BCPP DD tail did shed a blade once, defective part. |

i got my first heli bcpp today just an hour ago and i opened the box and the canopy was already cracked and broken, *look mom...precrashed* so i am probably gonna fly it anyways, should i charge the batterys now or fly em and wait till the charge drops some, o and i also have a 12 v dc power adapter in my room but it puts out 2 amps and the book says they recomend 1.5, will that be safe to use?

Advice: contact your LHS immediately (well asap anyway) about the cracked canopy, and check it over real well, I'd take pictures before I'd even take it out of the box.
Somebody owes you a new canopy, maybe a whole new helicopter. As long as the adapter has a plug that fits the charger and has the correct polarity, you will be OK, the current draw is determined by the device ( the charger) not the power supply, as long as the power supply has the correct voltage. If you do intend to fly it, charge the battery fully first, the electronics in the bird may get confused otherwise But since it is damaged---talk to the store. |

thanks for the fast answer, looking over everything, it all seems to be intact, we did get the picture before even touching it, i was kinda curious, when i was checking servo directions, the servos moved some they seem tight when you try to move them by hand but when in the extremes of the servo throw they get moved a little bit.

The BCPP is a fine helicopter but it is not normally considered to be a beginner's model. But if you do RADD's you will actually be OK. Do you have a simulator? |

my first helicopter but i flew airplanes for multiple years, i've played around on a lama with 0 problems, i also have been flying a simulator for about a month *extremely heavy amounts of time* i also plan to do the radd's system anyways, i have another question, when i pull the blades away from each other, should there be any play, b/c on mine one of the blades moves in and out slightly.

Take a look at the exploded diagram in the back of the manual. The feathering spindle is the shaft the blade grips mount on. The blade grip mounting screws should be secured with loctite. There should be no play at this point.
The spindle goes thru some o-rings in the center hub. There are some tiny shims and step washers in here. The whole spindle/grip assembly should be able to rock a bit in the o-rings, but there shouldn't really be any side-to-side play, the shims are supposed to take care of that. On mine if I pulled really hard, I could actually get the grip bearings to slip a little and cause play. Solution: don't pull so hard. The blades themselves should be tight, but loose. I mean loose, but tight. Oh, heck, the manual says "moderate pressure", you'll figure it out. ;) |

i've already pm'd this to jellyson but here goes for anyone else who might know what i'm experiencing
i'm starting to run the head speed up and i'm "testing"/ playing with the cyclic while it's still firmly on the ground and everytime that i push forward the disk tilts forward, but almost equaly as much to the left and when i pull back same thing except for to the right, and when i push left it moves back as well and forward when i hit right, it just dosnt seem correct., any idea's? thanks for all your help today. Yah that happened to me when I first got mine and I thought it was broken but when you start to hover it worked out fine.

what is everyone using as far as battery's for the transmitter, the ones that came with it are half gone already * they are pretty generic tho * is there a way to use a rechargeable pack? any thoughts on this, i'm sure everyone else has already figured these things out but there isnt a single post in the BCPP forum regarding it.

I use 8 rechargeable AA 2200 mAh NiMH batts in mine, last a long time, like all week flying several packs a day. I charge them externally with a special fast charger, takes 2 hours, they do get hot.

I just got the Energizer "Dock & Go". It comes with four 2500 mah NiMH AA's, (you'll have to buy the other four separately). It's a "smart" charger, only puts in what is needed. Takes about 3 hrs for a full charge, less for partially charged for four cells. It automatically switches to the other four after the first four are charged. It can be left unattended, it shuts off automatically. I just been useing normal Duracell batteries and after the stock ones ran out I've never had to replace the Duracell. Only one or two lights are off and I have been fling a wile on them.

orlbuzz, that charger, does it hold all eight AA's? Mine only holds 4, I have to charge in shifts, it's a minor pain.

Hi Fellow battery owners,
I use the energizer quick charger, I use the 2500 mAh batteries and they seem to last forever. It only charges 4 at a time, but the neat thing about it, it charges the four batteries in 15 minutes. Got mine at Wal-mart, but Lowes, Menards and a host of other carry them. Mine was 19.95 and came with 4 batteries. Just have to buy 4 more, 9.95. Just start charging a set, check your e-mail, done. so i've done 4 packs on the ground and i'm dieing to take off, but it's to windy outside and i wont beable to get into a gym for a few days. thanks for all the battery help to.
