[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHUY1&P=7]This[/link] must be the ESC you have. Do you like it? Is it fast? I am useing a G500T JR ring lock gyro and want to use it's full capacity (or as much as I can get out of a motor driven tail).

Well it can't be because it is for 9.6 V battries and the 3s lipos are 11.1

Anyone floating around who can help out with rewiring HS-55's to work with stcok eflite Rx?

Commander_Bob 02-08-2007 08:01 PM

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

I am not 100% shure but arent the Hs-55 already wired to work with the stock Rx? If not what part do you need to rewire? Just the plug?

noguy 02-08-2007 08:50 PM

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

the plug is the same but the servo's are reversed and if you flip the switches on the Tx. the throttle reverse doesnt work properly. pitch/throttle curve get inverted:(
I think the wires to the motor in the servo need to be reversed but I want to make sure before I go tearing all of this new stuff apart.

You can get that price anywhere. I would check my local hobby shop. Only advantage I can see buying from them is that it's free shipping but I think a lot of places offer that. I get my stuff from these guys, theyre pretty good. About 4 orders with them so far, came sooner than expected and no problems.

darkhawk, horizon hobby is a very large rc corporation that owns many brands:

[link=http://www.horizonhobby.com/Horizon/HorizonBrands.aspx]http://www.horizonhobby.com/Horizon/HorizonBrands.aspx[/link]

it goes without saying they're a safe place to shop.

Yes that is it. I do like it. I do run 3S and it has been fine.

I've heard of some people using longer symmetrical main rotor blades for their CPP. Does anyone know why? What kind of effect do the longer than stock blades have?

I am currently using flat blades while I continue to get proficient with this heli. Should I stick with the flat blades or look to get longer symmetrical ones?

They are very good. I bought my Heli there and got a free lipo. Came fast. They never returned my e-mails though for the tracking #. I would buy your heli there if your LHS won't match the price.

Hi,

It's my first helo, after a month of simulator, I can hover prety good. I love it, ready to flight from the box, good for my first one. I'm sure somebody here try that but before I try it, I would like to know if it's a good idea, I have a Park 400 4200Kv, is it too much or the only option is the 370 4100Kv. Let me know what you think. What about the tail is this small brushed motor last?

Thank you!
Eric

Hi Choopi,
Most guys have switched over to the direct drive tail motor. I did and am very happy! I hear that the stock one poops out pretty quick. You can wait until your stock one poops out but I did it before so now I have a back up just in case.
The DD tail connects in the same hole as the original motor with very little mods for the mounting screws. I put my 3020 prop directly on the motor shaft. Sounds like a bee buzzing! :D
I went with the 370 brushless with 20Amp brushless ESC so I can't tell you about your 400

Hi! all. Could someone clarify about the proper beakin for the DD conversion with the GWS motor. 1 or two c-size batteries, and I read somewhere about bereaking in motor in water.
Stock tail set-up is failing.

I used two AA but two C would be the same. Just let it run with the two battries for 30min. and your good. I woul not use it in water because it could rust or short out.

Hello, new to helis. picked up a cpp for my first.. my heli seems to act funny the longer i fly. i flys perfect in the beginning. then the it gets harder to controll. the altitude changes up and down and it gets continually worse.. i am not sure how long the flights are( it feels like i long time but being new i can only hold my breeath so long!).. I still am using the trainin gear and the entire machine is stock. this is my first heli and first electric. if it isnt a nitro truck i am lost.... any thoughts would be appreciated.. if any of this doesnt make sense. i apologize.

fish70, electric helis always perform best early in the flight, and performance gradually drops off throughout the flight. as the batteries voltage drops throughout the flight, your main rotor rpm will decrease, which in turn decreases stability (headspeed=stability). with a new pack you'll get about 15min of flight time out of a stock cpp without training gear (most ppl split the 15 min in to 2 flights, landing midflight to let the tail motor cool for a few minutes). the added weight of the training gear requires more power to lift, so you should expect less than 15min (more like 12min with training sticks).

it's a good idea to time your flights so you don't accidentally overdischarge your lipo pack. past 10min or so with your setup, i myself would probably feel the need to end the flight. i don't like to wait until it's hard to perform a controlled landing, plus by then you're already over-working your lipos. when you get rid of the training sticks, you'll probably be able to squeeze in 14min safely.

no, tbird9's are best for 3d foamies (indoor plank aircraft). those budget escs don't belong anywhere near an expensive brushless chopper. i tried a tbird9 on my tail and got poor results, but i wouldn't dream of using it on my main for the simple fact that it doesn't have a governor mode.

i like the phoenix 10 (and i love castle link). i like the fact that it has an adjustable governor (set rpm from TX/set gain through castle link), it has a slow spoolup function that actually works like it's supposed to (unlike other brands), and programing options are endless with castle link. it works well with default programming in governor mode, but it has a ton of room for tailoring to your taste. once you've ripped a governed rotor through the sky, you'll be hooked for sure and won't go back.

caveat emptor: you can't use governor mode without a programmable tx (regardless of the esc).

not the wires on the servo motor, that'll make the servo lock up. instead, reverse the wires on the servo position sensor. the sensor has 3 wires running to it; 2 end poles and a wiper. it looks like a run of the mill potentiometer because it is (except it's of high quality). if you know what i mean, take a stab at swapping the end poles of the poti with your 15W soldering iron, that should reverse the servo(s) in question. you could use a 25W iron, but you'll have to work fast to avoid overheating that poti.

hope i'm not speaking greek.
