I'm wondering if there is any way to use a mix switch on my computerized radio to disable the motor while working on or setting up an airplane. I have tried to set the end point adjustment to -0- but all that does is make the throttle stick inactive to about 3/4 stick. Is this even possible to do. Am using AXI motor and JETI controller.[size[ul]

On most computer radios there is a throttle cut program. eg on the FF9 Tx you can allocate a switch to this function and also the degree of throttle cut ie reduce throttle by 40%. Mainly used for the kill function on large petrol engines but we use it to cut the power to electric motors. If the switch is operated with throttle at 0 then one will not be able to start the motor via the esc.

The safest thing to do is remove the propeller. That way you don't forget to re-enable the throttle when you're done, and don't end up with a mysterious ESC "failure" when you go to fly the plane two weeks later
Better still, use a 4-cell NiCd or NiMH pack to power the receiver and servos during setup. Leave the motor disconnected completely.
