Firstly I am going to stick with 6S on the Angel and would like to go 6S on the Wind

I have watched Jochen Strubel's video and his Wind has all the performance I would need, so he has to fly on 3/4 - full throttle, what is the downside of this?
If you want to maintain the illusion of constant speed, you need lots and lots of power.

Thanks for your input.I cound not tell from your video that it was so windy, nice flying! However if the wind is 19-23 knots the only thing I will be flying is my computer!
I will let you know how the 6S setup performs, should have it up and running by the end of next week. I am going to try a 16x10 prop first as the 17x10 is drawing 100amps acording to the motor calc.

John,
If you already have 6S packs, and want to run 8S, just get some 2S packs that match your 6S, and run them in series. There is no reason the cell counts in the series packs have to match. It's just the Capacity, and C rating that must match. 2S packs should be very inexpensive. I really think the Wind 110 needs the power of the 8S setup to preform at it's best.

Anyone in the US heard a date as to when Fedon expects the next container shipment with the Winds? I have called and emailed numerous times and only response I got was "we will ship when shipment arrives". [&o] Thought maybe someone else who is waiting on one here might have some new info. Thanks....

tIANci,
Do you have your Wind airborn yet or are you still waiting on the motor to arrive? Bet you have been rubbing and polishing her and the paint and covering is probably getting dull and worn by now....lol
Jealous in Texas.....

I have an email from Seba that says Esprit is bringing in the planes now for the US. Nothing meant against Luigi and Fedon, I was just told 2 days ago by Seba himself of the arrangement.

Guys
The Wind arrived this morning! Got her about 75% done today, I did not fancy gluing in the horns with cyano so I used Hysol which needs to set overnight. will complete control linkages tomorrow morning, have mounted and run the motor and will test fly tomorrow pm. For the first time in weeks we have a period of good weather with blue skies, 18oC and 8mph wind forecast for the next few days.

I never even tried.. no need to.

This works just fine..
@John Agnew: thin CA works great for the control horns. Glued my plane entirely using thin CA, no other glues were used, and have flown about 280 flights with it up to date, without any problems.

Hi HEzik
That is what I am doing right now. But as a point of pride I hate to be beaten so if someone had managed it I wanted to know how.

There is some strange stuff going on with the Wind supplier or should I say suppliers here in the US. First it is announced in one of the above posts that Espirit is the new supplier for the US. Yesterday when you went to the the supplied link for Espirit Models, they had a full banner at the top of their web site home page that said that it was official, they were now suppliers for the Sebart products. Today, no mention can be found on their web site as to that fact. Also, the Fedon web site main page has been non functional for over a week now. They cannot be reached, or at least won't respond to calls or emails. But I noticed they were very fast to respond to the above post about Espirit being the new supplier with a link to Sebart website that shows they are the current distributor for the US supplier....
Again, very strange things. I know that there are a lot of worried people out there, my self included, wondering if we have lost our money that we have put up front for the plane.......

Dave!
Big surprise to see you here! Have you come over to the dark side too? I am having a lot of fun with electric models including a Flyfly F86 58" span (foamie) which flies very well. Just heading out to maiden my Wind110, finally got some decent weather after six weeks of rain and winds, there goes our Scottish summer!
Best regards

Huison ... nice nice! I can't wait to collect my motor ...
John ... the FlyFly F86 looks superb in the air, so much presence. Let us know how your WindS flies. I may just have mine up next weekend. Will build her this weekend.

Guys
Got the first three flights on the Wind today, conditions very good ,17oC with about 8mph straight down the runway. Final weight 7lbs 12oz RTF, Scorpion 4025/12, Scorpion Commander 90 ESC, Rhino 3700 20C 6S battery APC 17x10E prop. The Wind flew very well, one click of up trim, at first I thought it lacked power but all the thrust was in the last 1/2" of stick travel, I will have to set up a throttle curve. I am not qualified to comment on the models ability to fly an F3A schedule but for me the performance was superb. Very strong verticals ( Using full power) lovely knife edge, inverted required a breath of forward stick with CG at 190mm back from LE. Used 2900 MA for 6 minute flights.
Only downside was last landing which was a little hot, caught a hole in the grass (very wet and soft) and cracked the landing gear plate. I have stripped out the plate and a fix is straightforward, an hours work or so.
Delighted with the Wind and will be flying again in a couple of days.

John,
Good to see the Wind flew well on 6S & with the Scorpion power set.
See you have opted for the 17x10 vs 16x10 - what current are you drawing?
You save lots of weight going 6S, my 8S version with 5400 EON Lites or Rhino 4900's weights 4.25Kg (9lb 6oz), flies fine at this weight though.
Yes, throttle curve helps, I use a curve on both my Wind & Angel 50.
