RE: CA Models ENVISION
Hi Chip, this is Chic White, I use to fly and race with you when you were here at PGRC in Maryland. I recently found one of your Double Vision biplanes and I luv it. I sent you a PM asking you for suggested mixes and other help, advice, etc. for the DV to help me be a good Basic/Sportsman Class flyer with the DV. Thanks in advance for your help. Chic

RE: CA Models ENVISION
This is the factory stock color scheme for the Envision. This is the plane that we had on display at the NATS for a short time on Thurs . It was supposed to arrive Mon but was lost by the shipping company. This one is all paint and still available.

RE: CA Models ENVISION
I chose..... Both lol
I used the swept wing version, with the addition of a T-canalizer, for the P pattern. With the T it would carve through the M with ease. It also made the line-rolling stuff even easier.
I used the double tapered version for the F/Unknowns, with no T or tip fins, as I didn't feel it needed either one when I got my CG right. I flew the semi's with it too nose heavy and during practice after the semi's I moved it back a little and the plane came to life. I haven't tried P with it as when I got it, I was already used to the swept wing in P so I started flying F with this one and just left the 2 planes for each pattern.
I think the biggest difference is just getting used to looking at the swept wing again. It's a little bit different and sometimes I find myself staring at the wing instead of flying the plane.

Heres a few pics, with some dimensions that my U/C bolts are locate at. As you'll see from the pics the front 2 bolts in each leg could easily go back a bit. I got lucky!
The only things I changed in the arf was the cahinges, I used radio south ca hinges instead of what came with the artf.
My envision came out at 5083 grams, I plan on changing a few things including a R6008 Futaba rx instead of the 14 and a Yge 90 instead of the schulze 32.8. that should
bring me down to just over 5000, but I plan on buying the new lightened Falcon 21x14 as soon as F3a Unlimited has them back in stock. For motor I currently have the
Pletty 30-10 Evo installed, but will be evaluating wether I need to go with the 30-9 Evo or the Advance next year when I get some more flights on it.
I have about 6 trim flights in on the plane and the only mix I can think of right away is the 2% down elevator at low throttle.
If you need any other pics, let me know.
Simon

Some More pics,
One thing added is a support at the front edge of the servo tray, It had a bit to much flex in it for my liking.
Oh and on the UC mounting, I marked out the inside of the fuse as you will see, had to open up the holes in the fuse a bit for the UC legs to fit through.
Feed the UC legs into the fuse and clamp from underside of leg to top of UC mount and then drill through both mount and leg together.
Take the legs out, open up the holes for the T-nuts to fit, ca the T-nuts to the leg and put it back in and bolt it up

RE: CA Models ENVISION
All Camodel planes, typically balance on the wing tube, then adjust it to your liking which can rrun from 1cm fwd or 2cm aft of the tube. I adjust the CG to get a snap roll I like.
