Default HoneyBee 2 Problem

I got a new HB2. The 4 to 1 controller blinks 3 times and stays red. In the instructions it suppose to turn green and then its ready to fly. If I try and fly it. The main and tail motors do not operate. But all the servos work. I asked the dealer for help and he runs me through the basics. You should turn on the transmitter first type stuff. I think its the control box. But I would appreciated any help.

Another basic question but are you sure you're battery voltage is sufficient? That was the first thing that popped into my mind when I was reading your post.

I have two batteries. One 1100mah and a 800mah. I thought they charged to quick. It took about a hour each, so I charged them again when it didnt work. But they only charge for a few seconds. I'm getting 19 to 20 volts on each battery.

Make sure the 3D switch is off, or pushed toward the back of the transmitter and that the throttle and throttle trim are all the way down. Now plug the battery pack in and see what happens.

Later;

Same problem . I guess my next step is to check for voltage off the control box and see what I get.

19 - 20 volts? That doesn't sound right. What batteries are these?

I bypassed the control box and bumped the motor over and the motor runs. Now I have to see if Dealer will get me one or if he wants me to send it back (hong kong) rc-experts. There very slow responding

The batteries are Li-ion from rc-experts. 11.1v 1100mah and 800mah. Putting out 19 to 20 volts on my fluke meter

Make sure you reseat the crystals on both the TX and RX and don't move the heli after connecting the battery.
And last one which is very important, on my TX the servo reverse switches of the throttle and the rudder are in the"REVERSE" (which is UP) position but the other 2 are in normal.

I'm sorry but that voltage just sounds so wrong. To begin with, a charge cycle shouldn't take your pack voltage above 12.6 volts (3 cell li-po). How are you reading this voltage with your Fluke? On charge? Off charge? Disconnected from everything? We may be barking up the wrong tree here but that voltage can't be right, and if it is it would probably burn up the 4in1 pretty quickly.

It's a fluke 12b And I use a meter daily. I'm reading the voltage off the battery terminal clip. Ya, I was surprised by the voltage being high. Usually you can go + or - 10% . Its both batteries. So It could be a charger problem that cause the other. But the controller is still controlling the servos?

Thanks I & C Tech. I think you've solved the problem. I checked the output stamped on the charger and it says 12v's. But its putting out 23v's. I have a rc car and checked the batteries and charger. It was right at the rating. So now I just have to see if rc- experts will give me a new charger, batteries , and control box. Or new Heli.
Thanks for helping me put the pieces together.

Glad to help. I can't help but be surprised those batteries would take that kind of charge without bursting like we hear about in the li-po horror stories. Consider yourself lucky a fire wasn't started. Good luck with it!
