Default SUPER SNIPER

Hello All.

I thought you may be interested in seeing my freshly completed Super Sniper.
It was the all white version that I started with. I would like to say that this is one very nice and well thought out model jet.
My hat is off to HET.

Power is a mini 480, Kontronik 400 - 36 and a 3200 20C 3s Kokam. AUW is 38 oz.

I would like to add that Mark at Rt models and Markos at warbirds.com were very nice and very helpful to deal with. I highly recommend both of these guys . Great service, knowledge and excellent attitude.

Before any of you ask if I am a dealer the answer is yes. BUT, I have made an agreement with Mark and Markos that I will sell the Sniper in my store only and will not interfer with their mail order business.

All I can say is contact one of these guys and get one before they are all gone. []

I will post a flight report ASAP. (crazy Texas Weather) [:@]

Mickey,

Best of luck to you on your maiden; you will love the way it flies! The Ailerons make it a whole different bird when compared to Elevon jets...she rolls like you won't believe!!!

Best Wishes,

Carl

the sniper is an awesome looking bird. I like the red and white paint job. Was it hard to prep for paint. Did you have to work any seams or pin holes?

Mickey, Have you flown it yet? How fast is it?

Chris how does yours fly and how fast do you guess it is going. How many amps is the mega 2 turn pulling? How about some pics of yours
sorry for all of the questions but I am seriously thinking about getting one and I don't know what I want to power it with. Thanks in advance for your advice

Jetsetter,

Painting the Ultracoat if actually very easy to do and takes little prep. Some light sanding followed by tacking the surface is all that is needed. Mind you that only the wing and horizontal stab are covered in Ultracoat. The fiberglass fuselage has a slick white epoxy finish.

The mega 2T is a great motor for the combo. Mine pulled 45amps WOT and dropped to @42amps after a few seconds. Speed is probably 80-95mph for this model.

Hope this helps,

Carl

Thanks for the answers Carl. I have watched some of your posts and you seem to really know about electrics. It is nice of you to take the time to help us people out that are relatively new to electrics. ( or us that can't figure it all out ) [8D]

Hello Look,
Thank you for the compliment. No, I haven't flown it yet. It is ready and all I need is to build a dolly or a bungee launch system.

I like the Sniper 90. I will have to get one as soon as they are available!

The Super Sniper is a great jet. It is VERY easy to build and am sure it will fly great. I will let you know how the test flight goes.

Keep up the good work and make some more cool jets for us!!

Hello Mickey,
Thank you.
I think you can not wait to fly !!
Which outer duct do you use ?
It is best to use the one like my drawing (posted).
I am working on some new designs.
With one model the nose is ready.
I am waiting for the alu sheetmetal
to finisch the Sniper 90.
There were some production problems with the Flitemetal.
Best regards,
Look.

Hello Look,
I am sorry for the long delay in answering. I had a pretty busy weekend.
Yes, I am VERY anxious to fly my Super Sniper. I am new to electric jets and I have never used a bungee launch before. It is very difficult to get information on this subject. I believe that I have built a Dolly system that should work. I have been flying Ducted fan and turbines for many years and I will still fly my turbines but the electrics have really caught my attention. My planes MUST be high performance and fast or I get bored quickly.

The thrust tube that I made was not the one included with the kit. I found some very thin, lightweight mylar that I used. I simply made it fit the aft end of the fan tightly and the exit on the fuselage also tightly. After cutting and rolling it to shape, I simply taped it together. It worked very well and is extremely smooth and "slick". It can be purchased at hobby lobby craft stores and probably others. It is with the poster board material. It is the same as poster board but has this mylar coating so you can wipe off or remove what has been written on it. I take a picture of it, that is easier than trying to explain.

Please keep us posted as to the progress on the Sniper 90. I will want one when they are ready.

Mickey,
Maybe someone can help you with a bungee at the first flight.
Start straight against the wind.
For the Sniper 90 I am waiting for the alu sheetmetal.
I will show a picture when I have started.
In two weeks you can see the new Aggressor EDF 480.
This one will be smaller than the Sniper 480.
So it will be faster.
Nice stuff that poster board, I have never seen that.
Have a lot of fun.
Best regards,
Look.

Look,

I forgot to tell you that I just started one of the HET F-18 ARF's today. This is simplier to build than the Super Sniper!
Man, you guys sure do nice work! Better come out with something new.........this bug won't take long to build. I have to keep busy so I stay out of trouble.

You say the Aggressor will be faster than the Sniper? I'll have to have one of those also.

( might have to sell one of my turbines )

The F-18 is a fine modell too.
The Aggressor will be aggressive !!
With a low and wide body.
Super for the Shuebeler.
Is that your hobby shop ?
I have been hobby shop owner for 12 years.
Now I am only designing and building airplane plugs.
I want to build a lot of jets coming years.
Regards,
Look.

Look,

Yes, It is my Hobby Shop. I have had it for 14 years. [link]http://www.a1hobby.com[/link]

The F-18 Is Very nice. I have only been working on it for a few hours and it is almost done. Can't wait to see the new jets. please let me know and send pictures when they are done. [email protected]

I like the idea of paying less for an electric jet kit than I do for wheels and brakes on one of my turbines. [X(]
