I just use Testors Model Master FS Spray Paints 3oz Enamel and just try to spray on a very light coat to save on the weight. I have used all sorts of spray paint and have never had it eat the foam. The multiplex foam is great stuff.

I just hit the 105 mph mark today at the field in no wind. I came out of about 200 feet and made a full throttle pass level about 10 feet off the ground down the flight line. It was pretty cool. I'm hoping my second fun-jet will be a little faster with the ARC motor in it. Without the dive first we recorded a top speed of 95 mph.

I bought the funjet used from a guy at the field, here is the setup:

KMS 380/14 Quantum hobby people motor: http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/108422.asp
Castle thunderbird 54amp
HS- 65 hb x 2
flightmaxx 3s 2200 30c
APC 6 x 4 prop

It runs about 41 amps, 430 watts which is way over the motor capacity but I let it rest between flights. Everything stays cool except the motor but I can still keep a finger on it so it isn't that hot.

I just bought this setup but it's kind of expensive, I think it will rock:

ARC-28-47-1.5
Phoenix ICE Lite 75 amp ESC
Hs-65hb x 2
APC 6x 4
3s and able to run 4s as well.

for the e flight six series 2700. i think max would be around 50 amps. i run mine at around 48 on a 4 cell. its right around 725 watts or so. For props i only use the APC GAS .049 props. much stiffer. i like the 5.7x3 and the 6x4. the 6x4 is the best and around 850 watts. the 5.7x3 is 725 watts and spins at 32,000 on the ground. either of these props give the best speed and vertical. I did try the APC 5x5 electric prop at 900 watts and a 6x5.5 at 1050 watts and were slower than the GAS props. just tells me the motor cant handle it.

so for all you guys trying high pitched props i would try the above props. real cheap and i think you will like them. speed wise we are guessing around 120-125. one of the guys had a 120 bobcat or something like that with a small 8-10lbs thrust turbine lol and i was faste than him. he quickly landed.

Oh yeah i run a EVO 30 3750 4s batt and a common sense 55 amp

Im running a HET 2-20w and Eflight 60 amp ESc. Am buying a 4.75 and 4.1 inch props to try out. I had a 6x4 laying around and it torqued the model at 1/2 throttle as I just barely used it to get the maiden.. I wonder if I took a 5.5x4.5 and cut it down too, maybe another option..

well...off to the LHS... this thing is going to be fun!!..

I am putting lights on it for night flying on a three cell and day time on a 4 cell.

Try the 4.75x4.45 also....if you get a lot of torque roll at WOT try added .5 to1 oz on the right wing tip as viewed from the rear...start at .25 oz. and work up. That way weight is countering the torque and not the elevons...it does not take much...you may notice that the bare fuse is left wing heavy, which adds to the roll effect. It'a a mfg. issue which I hope will be fixed on the new Ultra model coming out soon.

Try the weight first....use a penny(s) taped on to see if it helps/hurts. If it helps then make it perm.

Other thing if your running eflite 60 you may want to look at MicroDan 2900kv outrunner which I use(d) Super lite and will make 600-700 watts at 54 amps on a 4.75x4.75 prop. Weight is main savings....if you decide PM me and I'll walk you thru the set up.. you can get about 110mph with the MD lite set up on 4 cells

bigdog5332, chippedprop,

MEGA orders need to be placed with MEGA dealers.

Now that MEGA Distributor for USA has closed down, there is a new Dealer who has been established to place orders directly from Manufacturer.

His first round of orders are currently getting built and finished by next week.

He has the lowest prices....and due to his close relationship with mega he knows about all of the motors.

Manufacturer does not place all fancy and special motors on his web site...and has no time for anyone else.

Last guy who tried to order directly got refused and had his web order cancelled.

Good news:I asked the MEGA dealer {we can call him a "Super" MEGA Dealer} to join us on RCUniverse.
Furthermore, I asked him to place a post on this thread.
He plans on placing one of his very first posts on this thread.....today.

Guys: Gary is a totally cool and a nice guy……He is HUGE in EDF circles. When he makes comments on EDF subjects everyone takes notes….I got that from my various sources….Gary is a humble person.
I spoke to him about EDFs and he is VERY knowledgeable and detail oriented. I learned a lot.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the intro Gryphon.

chippedprop, Thanks for posting the link to my website.

I've been a member here for a couple of years, but got wrapped up and made a few friends at RCG. Well it's time to hopfully make some new ones.
It was nice of Gryphon to put in a good word for efflux RC, but when it comes to pusher prop specs and performance, Gryphon IS the man, during our learning curve. (time for us build a fast pusher!!)
While we begin to get some info up here, (not familiar with RCU rules yet) please visit my:

Chippedprop.. I stole your idea of putting an outrunner on the back of a funjet. It seems to be very effective to get the prop into clean air. I put a turnigy 35-30 1700kv on flightmax 5 cell 40c 2200, plush 60a esc. with a 6x6 graupner speed prop and we radared it today at 196 km/h or 121mph. That was on a level pass but there was some wind. I'll try again on a perfectly calm day. Everything came down just barely warm.
I would recommend this to Anybody who want's a cheap fast setup, less than $100 us for everything except the receiver.
thank's for the help....Have fun Gent's

I don't think you really need it , as a matter of fact using kicker makes a weaker joint then letting it naturely cure. When you are hinging surfaces on balsa planes it's recommended that it not be used. The theory is that if you kick, it then the C.A. dries to fast and doesnt get a chance to soak in . This creates a surface bond. Elapor is porous like balsa so i would think the same the same rules apply. I use thin and it seem's to work well...good luck with the build

sorry I've was busy at work...I agree on the CA guess natural cure is a much stronger bond....in one of the AMA mags they did a comparison of many diff. glues and good ole hot glue was just as strong as epoxy using a controlled test...so do not rule that out..it's quick cheap strong and my fav. will flex and not fracture under a load...ie crash

There are a few places you can get kicker from in Italy...you're in Aviano right? There is a hobby shop in Casarsa, one in Pordenone and one in Mestra. Let me know if you need more info.
