What type of battery connectors do most of you guys use.?
My Aerobird has the mini Tamiya type, which works fine. When I was setting up my GWS Mustang I bought the same connectors(Maxx brand) so I wouldn't have to make adapters, etc. for the charger. They go together so tight that they are almost impossible to take back apart.
I was thinking about Deans connectors, but thought I would ask here first to see what others are using.
Thanks,
Rob

You can go with the Deans Ultra or you can use Anderson Power Pole connectors (also known as Sermos). Both are good and get rid of the Tamiya. I use the Anderson Power Pole (Sermos) as it available in different current ratings.

I'll second the motion of trashing the Tamiya connectors. I use Dean Ultra plug's on all but the smallest planes/packs. Go with that or sermos. It's a preference thing. Both are great

Fairly new to electric. On initial GWS stuff I have been using BEC connectors since most GWS and low amp stuff came with them installed.
Getting into higher amp stuff and have a couple of Deans Ultra. They are really difficult to unplug. Are Sermos any easier?

Sermos (Anderson Pole Connectors) are equally hard to unplug. That's the way I want it. A good solid connection that doesn't vibrate and cause a high resistance.

Sierra Gold, I don't know how you soldered the term.'s, but if you plug the two pieces together then solder helps. It's still fairly tight, but having them connected helps keep the terminals aligned while soldering if you over heat it alittle. For my 280 & under size I use the BEC style. Another good type is the "Mini?" deans plugs.

I hadn't thought about plugging them together before soldering, I'll try that next time.
In the relatively tight confines of the battery compartment I have almost broken a bulkhead in tugging on the Deans to remove a battery. They stick at first and then let go all of a sudden.
I wonder if the Astro Flight Zero Loss connectors are any better? I have a new AF 010, just haven't used it yet. I'll have to look more closely and try those to see if they work smoother.
Thanks,
Sierra Gold

Thanks for your suggestions guys. I switched over to Deans Ultra and they work great! I also found the problem with the originals, some were Mini Tamiya and some were Mini Kyosho. The look the same but are slightly different size.
