I think you may be right about different cranks, I just tapped it to fit the larger crank. Fits fine. I think I went to sleep last night thinking about that muffler you made. It looks great!

Ken, I think I may have spoke too soon. I used a drill press before a retapped threads and got off center somehow. I may need to buy a hub from you tapped to 9 mm but just like the other one otherwise. MY FAULT NO DOUBT. Hey! guy!! Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you! I haunt the chain saw shops,,and outdoor power equipment stores,, you'll find that most of the guy's in the saw shops already are aware of the use of these engines in our planes. Once you get to know these guy's,,and it'll take dropping in on a weekly basis,,let them know what your looking for. At a shop where I patronize,,the mechanic saw me walk in one day,,hollered at me to come back in the shop,,and wanted to know if I would be interested in an engine,,and pulled out a echo twin!!! I about fell on the floor!! The BME engine is the direct decendant of this!!,,turning the engine over,,I soon found out it was shot,[&o], I think it would be interesting pursuing that,, you also nose around garage sales,, estate sales,,etc. there's LOT'S of engines out there!! If you want to go much above 5 cu. ",,you'll have to consider the twin,,as the reciprocating dynamics have a lot of counterwieght on the crankshaft,,making it heavy,,and shake too. I also have a 3w-100 and a da150,,both smooth engines. ok,,,I'll stop rambling,,,any more questions,,feel free to ask!!

Tripp trying to get one of each of the new 4-stroke trimmer motor to do side by side test looking to get stihl, briggs & stratton, shidiawa, ryobi, and honda. Have access to machine equip. and have done a few two stokes. Just wanting to know if I would be able to get just a power head of it or if not could I drive to Memphis & buy one from you & maybe sell back some spare parts I would not be needing.

Hi, Ken Do you know how much the Stihl 4-Mix engines are selling for? I think Stihl only sells the complete trimmer; not the engine only. I was interested in the 31.4 CC version but the larger 36CC sounds like it would make a good conversion too.

I am converting onelike this, a 23.9cc from a weedwhacker. Where can I get a prop drive like that for mine. The crank threads are 8mm x 1.25 I believe.

Poulan 46cc cranks are made by Husky, I very much doubt the threads are 5/16-24...Close, no cigar. 8mm, just like all smaller Sachs and Husky, and all other foreign engines...Large Sachs and Husky are 10mm...
Quadra threads are US, 5/16 and 3/8-24
Zenoah threads are 8mm and 10mm
Stihl are 8 and 10mm
DA and 3W, 8mm

threads on the crank at the flywheel.
