Homelite 25cc Plumbing??
Sorry if this thread is redundant but I have check many threads and haven't found the answer.
This is my first gasser so forgive me.
I have a 25cc Homelite with a Walbro carb marked WT476. It has 2 fittings and a primer bulb.
What is the proper way to plumb the fuel system?
Any other pointers would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Doug

The fitting nearest the primer bulb is not needed and can be plugged. Use a piece of fuel tubing and a plug. The feed line from the tank goes to the other fitting. Depending on the type of plane you run it in dictates how to go from there. Assuming you have a cowl you just put a tee in the line from the tank to the carb. Then route a line from the open end of the tee to a fuel dot. That way you don't have to remove the cowl to fuel up. The vent from the tank gets routed to the outside of the fuse. I usually use a barb installed in the center of the plane by the landing gear. Connect the vent line to it and never plug it. Do put a loop or two in the tubing to prevent siphoning when inverted. If you fly from a dusty field I would install a filter in the vent line. Hope this helps.

Tim,
Perfect. Just what I wanted to know. I was thrown by the 2 fittings on the carb mostly but the loop in the vent line is a great tip.
Thanks a ton!

Ok, another silly question. How do you guys attach the fuel line to the small fitting on the carb without it coming off?

Flypuck, No silly questions just ask away. I just slide it on the brass inlet and use a small wire tie. I wire tie all my fuel connections, even in the tank. Actually I use two on each attaching point. Overkill???... Maybe. Maybe not. Make sure you use the fuel line that will go on the inlet but with a little force. It should not just slide on real easy or you may have problems.

Thanks, Tim for mentioned that. My post without this important information might create a wrong assumption that wire is not needed.

Dumb question 3:
What is the best spark plug to run and what is the gap for the Homelite 25? It has a non-resistor plug in it now which I know needs to be changed to prevent RFI.
btw, thanks for the input guys

Doug, I use CH Ignitions on all my conversions. I also use the Bosch cap. I also use NGK plugs. Personal preference. So on that setup I use either NGK BPMR 6A or BMR6A. These plugs have a 3/4 hex on them. Champion also works and that number is RCJ7Y. On the rubber boot electronic ignitions from CH I have used RDJ6J and 7J. Never have I seen any discernable difference in plugs. Gap mine at .023.

Flypuck, you can also solder on some fuel barbs if your handy at soldering. These are 1/8" inside diameter so they should just slip on over the existing brass tubing coming from the carb.Be careful not to damage any other parts of the carb that might be connected to the brass tubing due to thermal conduction. They are also available in a larger 5/32" size for larger size carbs.

Hi guys, now I have a silly question, does the "gasoline" tank not need a vent like the glow models? because i like flypuck am too kind of new to the gassers. i have mine all shaved down and ready for a prop adaptor, and prop to test run.
thanks for the help.

Raf,
Welcome to gassers. You do need a vent for the tank. When you install the tank in the aircraft. make sure you loop the vent line around the tank once and then exit the bottom of the airplane. This will keep it from syphining (probably spelled wrong) when the plane is inverted.
Good Luck!
Doug
