Why not try the Internet? Seems that pretty much any of the oils that have been discussed to date are available from various sources. Prices are often very good, and shipping has been free in the past for certain oils

Yes - particularly Stihl HP Ultra - easy to find....Pennzoil 2C also, and Bel Ray MC-1....plus local motorcycle shops frequently carry very good oils, also.

Shipping is never free to Canada - the shipping and duty would double the cost of the oil, by the time I paid all that for a flying seasons worth, I could probably buy another engine when this one is done in 4 years or so.

Wow, seems to be a lot of knowledge of DLE 35ra's out there. Here's one for you....my DLE 35ra is throwing the spark plug! The first time it looked like it just came loose, so I tighten the plug. The second time after about 15 flights the plug came out in flight sand took the treads with it!? Lucky to save the plane twice. I have it in a scale Spad XIII so it's not being throttled very hard. The engine is less than a year old, so I hope the warranty will cover the head.

Very strange.....maybe a factory defect so it should be covered. On the other hand, DLE parts are not expensive.

BTW, the way I tighten plugs is to finger tighten until bottomed then wrench tighten +1/2 turn. There is a special "spring/lock" washer on CM6 plugs and if a plug is overtightened, the washer will flatten and not do its job

I believe a staked bolt is one where the thread is purposely deformed to stop it self-extracting. I always thought this was done to a thread that extends beyond the nut. With the intention that you will NEVER have to remove the bolt, which seems applicable here unless you are planning to overhaul a carb all the way to the choke butterfly and throttle butterfly.

Hi,
is there a Walbro part number on your 35ra carb? I have the original DLE carb an would like to switch it out for a genuine Walbro.
Thanks much
