I recently purchased a 3W75 which had been obviously in a skirmish with mother earth and lost. That was not advertised with the sale ad, However I am experiencing extreme radio interference from the ignition even using a PCM Rx..Where can I get this ignition unit repaired or checked out??
Who services 3W engines??I reallyneed help

I do believe that Joe originally stated that the engine had been obtained after it had been crashed by someone else, and now it may have some issues since it appears to not be operating correctly. There was no place that alluded to quality issues or defects but of possible crash damage. Now the gentleman is looking for a good place to seek service, like any smart owner should do.
There's a big difference between talking smack and seeking service. A good check up after a serious crash is a very smart thing to do. People need to read what's in front of them and see what is said. All too often a reply for all the wrong reasons is given, and that's happened at least twice in this thread.

I would send the motor in also, especially if it hit the ground!!! Either Bobby at Cactus or Gerhard at Aircraft International will hook you up. Of all the times I hit the ground with my 3W's, most of the time I damaged the ignition cap, and it caused issues with the radio. One last thing to check is that your ignition battery and switch are as far away from the receiver as possible, just a thought.

I have contacted Bobby at Cactus and through a little discussion we feel that the battery location with reference to the RX may be the problem..I am hoping that this is the only concern,
Thanks all of yout replies..z,

while we are on the subject of service my 3W-75 is still having fuel drawing problems... i've called Aircraft International and they said it might be a problem with the reed valve being bent or something? i could send it to them but silversurfer said Cactus is the best? what about ralph? he checked this engine out (a while ago when i bought it used, no problems then)... just wondering if anyone has been around the block with all of them and could reccomend the best.... as well as the most reasonably priced, but best comes first.

Hummm--sound familiar. I also have a 3W-75 that would not draw fuel... talked with AI and they suggested I replace the reeds. Did that and nothing changed. Talked with Cactus and after three phone calls, they said send it in. They "shaved the reeds" and "sealed the carb block" but did not test run it. Cost--$65. The invoice stated 'draws fuel like crazy'. I have not had the opportunity to run it yet. I suspect there was a leak between the carb and engine, which would stop the pump from working. I would recommend you get some sealent from an auto parts store and seal the block/carb surfaces before sending it into anyone. It appears there is a problem with this engine that with time, it looses the seals. I've heard from other 3W75 owners with the same problem. Please let me know what you find.

ah thank you for posting, that is so helpful... I will do that, check the seals and maybe order some gaskets...... when you say seal the block/carb gap which part is that? the black plastic part that connects the carb to the plastic? thanks

The black plastic is the carb isolation block. It keeps the heat from getting to the carb. Cactus put a red sealant material on both sides of the black block. Make sure not to put on too much and plug up the holes. A very thin layer should be enough to stop any leakes--just make sure no holes on the block are closed.

i found a crack in the corner of the black carb block next to a screw.... sealed it with high temp silicone sealant and i'm sucking fuel again! i will order a replacement part as i have no idea how long this fix will last... only problem now, is that it wouldn't start!? carb is leaking fuel, pulled the spark plug to make sure it was sparking, even changed to a new spark plug and it won't start! geez. needles are set back to factory settings, and it can't even get a small pop out of it.... im recharging my ignit batt right now to see if that'll help. grrr i may just have to send it in after all
