rcingitions.com G-26 conversion questions

Here’s a stupid question. Is it ok to run the converted G26 on a test stand? I’d like to learn the running procedures (this is my 1st Gaser), brake in the engine and test the smoke system before installing the engine in the airframe.
Thanks!

Just like Blkbird68 said, it's okay to do so, just don't not run your gas motor blubbering rich as you would a ringed glow engine. Adjust the HS needle for max rpm and back off 300, and then tune the LS needle for best transition. Just like glow, running a gas motor lean is a big no no.

Got some goodies in for Ralph’s engine (which I should get the next few weeks).
Check out the pics at http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_50..._3/key_/tm.htm
Quick stupid question on the pitts. If need be (or if I wanted to) can the exhaust tubes be trimmed? Or will this screw up the performance / sound?
Thanks!

Are you using the RC100 as an ignition switch? If so, has anyone else out there done this, or know if there is risk of RF interference since the ignition will be wired to the receiver through this switch?

In reality the switch is plugged into the Rx and spliced into the ignition battery circuit and not the ignition directly. I plan on using one and posed that very same question to the RCATS rep who advised me that it's use would not cause any RF interference. You can check their website at: [email protected] . HTH

sorry for the misleading words...
What I meant was: If we are educated to keep ignition components as far away from the flight pack as possible, relay or not, we're putting an electrical component from each source right next to each other right?
Glad you looked into it, I will check it out more too so I understand better.
