I use an 1800 ma 7.4V Lipo on the ignition without a regulator. The engine can handle 7.4 volts no problem. Love the engine, very dependable. I use Stihl HD synthetic 50:1 ratio using 93 octane gas.

Any tips on setting up the carb linkages. I will installing into the airframe now and have crude wires to actuate choke and car needs considerable attention. Pictures speak a 1000 words

I have the old model of evolution that has the plug out the top. My big issue is cooling it. with the carb in front, and the muffler to the side i'm having issues of designing some baffles to help Chanel air for cooling. this is on a cub that has opening for air around the dummy cylinders. i have thought of using a PC fan to pull and blow air from the opposite side then the muffler. Going to add some fins at the back of the cowl to help pull the air out of the cowl. running 40 :1 klotzs oil Any suggestions

I have one of these engines and it runs great extremely reliable. I am using 6V NiMh battery with decent current draw from the stock ignition and an inverted pitts muffler. No cooling issues. If you have a tight cowl I would baffle the airflow over the cylinder. Use Stihl Ultra oil mixed at 32:1 ratio. The choke works great on this motor and out front you can reach it without a choke servo or manual rod. Other than this, listen to what PE says as he is the best on these motors.
