The best thing about G38 is the reliability. That's why so many twin-engine planes are powered by G38s.
I do have a G45 installed on my 1/3 scale Pitts Special and like it a great deal. All my gas engines (I have 7) are Zenoahs with the exception of one Quadra 40 XL.

I have a 1/4 cessna 182 weight is 27 lbs. flies real scale, that i don't like, no room for era! and takes 250 ft of runway. My problem is that i don't want to install another engine because of balance and weight. I heard that if you added 35% nitro methean to your 32 to 1 mix you can add 1.5 hp to the exsiting 2.1 or 2.3 hp that the G-38 delivers, what do you think?????????

Hi guys, just want to put my vote in for the Rebel. Two were built by fellow club members over the winter, one out of coroplast (not sure if thats the right spelling?) with a G38, the other built up with a Q35(I think) and will probably get upgraded to a G45!
I had the chance to fly the one with a G38 and did my first ever controlled tork roll with it (really it wasn't an accident!
). This is a very nice flying airplane and I would recommend it to anyone!

Good news (Floater)....... keep those good repors flowing in Guys. I think these lower cost planes are the ticket for fun. If a person has too much $$$ in a plane.....it causes the flyer to worry much more. Just as much fun can be had...maybe more!!! Capt,n

I flew an Ultra Hots with a G-38 for about three years. It was a great match. Not 3D capable, but very aerobatic and fun to fly. Remember, every plane does not have to be a 3D sky burner in order to be great fun!!!

Steve: I heard a guy say the most fun plane he had with a G38 was a hots. I do not know what wingspan it was. What is the span of the Hots you had??? Thanks Capt,n

Wing span is 80 in. weight was about 15 pounds. A point of interest is that I used standard Futaba 148 servos. One on each aileron, one for each half of the elevator and one for the rudder and throttle. Worked very well. However, if I were to build another now I would use high torque servos. BTW Model Airplane News still sell plans for the Ultra Hots.
