Who is the "official" U.S. dealer for DLE?
Won't speak for anyone else but we buy engines and service parts direct, from DL Engines, China. We offer factory authorized service and genuine DLE OEM parts.
Thanks. Is there a list of the dimensions of the engines on your website?

Please post rpm numbers with Xoar 22x10 for the DLE 55 and 27x10 for DL 111 please so we can compare to the DL 50 and DL 100. Anyone can also compare to the TOC/3MM 100cc engine??
I've given up on people's posted numbers a long time ago. Some are exaggerated. Some are true. Some don't know how to tune an engine, so the number is no good anyway.

Well, I have only been able to bench run the 55. I ran it for about 30 minutes and it was flawless. With the stock can muffler it turned a JXF 22x8 @ just shy of 7200, Idled very well at 1400 and transitioned quick and smooth. No need to run it any more on the bench. I recieved the shipment of engines at about 10:00am Mon., by noon #11 was on my Yak and ready to fly, it's been raining almost nonstop ever since.

I looked at and inspected every engine and made sure everything was in each engines box that was supposed to be there. I expected to see pretty and perfectly smooth castings but was a little surprised to notice cyinder castings, on the very lowest serial numbered engines, that were a little on the rough side in appearance only. The engines with higher serial numbers looked much better, one of the reasons I chose #11 to test. I'm all about function, and so far it does that well, I see every reason to think the new DL engines will perform as well or better than their predecessors. The 111's should be here today or tomorrow.

If you want to frame it and put it on the mantle you may be slightly disappointed. If you want to wring out a 18 pound aerobatic plane and fly with extreme confidence you would be very

Jody,

How much more power does the DL55 have compared to the DL50? Just curious if you happen to remember what kind of numbers you were getting with the JXF 22 x 8 on the DL50? I have a DL50 and am happy with it so far, but I was wondering how much more power the DL55 might have?

Thanks,

-Ed B.

Hi Ed,

It's really hard to say how much more power if any the 55 will have this early, I only have about a quart of fuel run through one. All the new DL50's I've run have always been with the same prop, JXF 22x8, and all have been right around 7000, some a little more, some a little less. I don't remember any hitting 7200 untill after a few gallons of fuel have been run through them. I have seen reports of others getting a few hunred more RPM out of their 50's after breakin than I have ever seen, and I have run quite a few. The 55 is essentialy the exact same engine as the 50 with a 2mm larger bore, I'm not going to expect it to spin a 24x10 prop at 7500. What I've seen so far I like very much but is not all that much different than the 50.

I'll be flying it tomorrow and I'm going to try to run as much fuel through it as possible, I'll check the RPM at the end of the day and give another report if you wish. I will be carefull though to give realistic and accurate information so as not to mislead anyone into thinking it will do anything other than what it actualy does.

Jody,
Please post rpm's on the dl111 with 27x10 wood if you don't mind. I'm curious to see how that will compare to the dl 100.
I agree there's rpm reading variation between people, but that's because of lack of consistency from the manufacturing. I noticed that my dl 50's have varying compression right out of the box and varying rpm's swinging the same prop. Regarding tuning, there is only one needle to adjust for maximum rpm. How hard can that be?
At the end of the day, I still like looking at rpm reading, until we have a better way to compare engine performance.

In regards to the 111 I have, I couldnt agree more. Mine is mid thirties and the cylinders are pretty rough. But it more than makes for it in performance, which is what I care about.

Wasn't there a DL/DLE china website?
They warned and showed about fake DL engines and showed the latest they had to offer.
I can't seem to find it anymore.

Jody,

Thanks for the reply. I expect the DLE55 will be an incremental increase over the DL50, but even a few hundred rpms can make a big difference. With the rear carb, these engines work well in a variety of 1/5 scale warbirds, e.g., Yellow Spitfire, TFGSP51, TFGSP47, just to name a few, because they fit better in the cowls, especially with prop hub extensions. A few hundred extra rpm is very welcome on these planes. I look forward to the numbers.
