I would have to agree with the Syssa being a smooth runner. Its a different motor and it really isn't fair to compare it. Its smaller obviously at 30cc and it likes the high rpms on the pipe. My Syssa was spinning in the mid 9's on a Xoar 18x6 prop too. Actually the same prop. I think the MT is probably going to have more low end grunt to it. But, I don't have the numbers to back that statement up. I am slowly learing all this number comparison really doesn't mean anything anyway. Ithink is is all about matching the motor with the airframe. The Syssa was not happy spinning those rpms and draging my extra through the air and thats why Todd has it. And, then again I really have no clue what I am talking about.

I didn't get a chance to get a reading at wide open throttle. It blew my pipe off at 8000. I did get a reading today. It spun the 18x6 Xoar Beachwood at 9690.

Unfortunately and sadly the well known custom header craftsman, Karl Mueller, is very ill and is no longer making headers.

Those new Xoar 19 X ''3DA'' props arrived from Valley View RC in a dented, bent and busted mailing tube but the props were undamaged. The props were obviously strong enough to prevent the U.S. Mail from breaking the tube completely apart.
Initially the engine was difficult to start because it would not draw fuel but it popped and spun the prop loose after I squirted gas in the carb. After squirting gas in it a couple of times it fired up and continued running. Before I was chased indoors by mosquitoes, thunder and rain I managed to get the max speed up to a ''blazing'' 4300 rpm and idle speed down to 2400 rpm after many needle valve adjustments and a tank of gas.
The following day I started all over by resetting both needle valves to 1 1/2 turns open and choked the engine. This time the gas came up in the line and flowed to the engine. Also, the compression was much better than the day before when it seemed to have a leaky piston ring. It surprised me by roaring to life on one flip of the prop.
With just a few needle adjustments, max speed went to 7000 rpm and idle was 2000 rpm (it idled at 1700 rpm but not reliably). It shakes a good deal more than the MVVS 26cc that it replaced. I'm using regular gas at 32:1 with Mobil Racing 2T synthetic oil.
I would have taken it to the field to break it in while flying it but the winds were too high, just as they have been for weeks.

Did you ever get yours to idle reliably below 2000 rpm? I can't get mine to do it. Cuts off everytime.

The carbs I put on the MT35 have a detent choke, they don't come that way but I modify them with the correct Walbro parts. I can also sell the parts for those that want to convert their high idle choke system to the detent type. ...

Lookin' good!!! Just what the doctor ordered. MT... put it on a EScomposite pipe now and post some numbers. I think you will get some attention. Ididn't have mine on long enough to get some acurate publishable numbers to hold up to the scrutiny. Thou its not practical and probably not a good idea, I would bet a dollar it will spin a 18x6 Xoar close to 10g.

Er, what were you thinking? Circumcision and castration?
Its too bad that the threaded prop shaft and nuts were not kept as an option to the 4-bolt hub arrangement.

We are in full swing, where do you think these changes are coming from? 
I've also been fixing all the previous ones that were sold by places other than VVRC. The first test engine is here, and the updated test 70 is on it's way, they are looking very good.

I got to lay my hands on a newly delivered MT 35 last week. A friend of mine received one (fresh from the factory I think) and I helped him get it running and tuned. I think it must have many of the ""Valleyview improvements" on it (not totally sure about that but it sure is a heck of an improvement on the last one I saw).
We got it running for him straight up (no hassles) and it seems like a very sweet engine indeed. I think this engine will definitley be rivalling all of the other Chinese made 26, 28, 30, and 32cc engines.
No - I am not dealing with them and am not involved with them in any way, nor am I going to be doing so - I was simply helping a friend out and can see where this engine is going to be a real winner for sure. (Kudos where they belong).

a question guys... which props do you use? a friend of mine purchased this engine and the prop hole is too big for the shaft... why is this shaft not same diameter as others? now he needs to make a spacer or something...
